That's awesome Hawkheart. It sounds like you were in the same situation as the family I helped out - the school sucked so they did it on their own.

I know a few adults who were home-schooled and they're great people. One couple has their kids in public school and are really impressed with what their kids are doing. But, they live in one of the best school districts in the country.

This conversation makes me think that the coastal communities along the east coast don't have good schools. Maybe tax dollars should go toward education rather than beach replenishment.

As a former school teacher, I'll always support the schools, but I also hate to see families stuck with lousy ones. You gotta do what you gotta do.

This quote should be framed and put up all around Delaware.

Only tax dollars should be put toward ANYTHING other then beach replenishment

I've done almost zero research on beach replenishment, and the Left Coast doesn't do it nearly as much as the Right Coast, if at all.

IMHO, it really seems futile and expensive.

Hawkspark, who knows how you've turned out. Maybe you have your shiiiite together, maybe you don't.

I've always held that by the time an individual is around 15-17 years old, that's it, they are who they are, the basics stay the same their entire lives. Sure, collitch & work give them 'speriences & all of that; but, bottom line remains, the person is the same & there's no changing that.

What's crazy is the massive industries / businesses that have sprung up to tell people how to change their lives, how to live their lives, how to better their lives. Again, people are who they are from early on - - there's no altering that.

Most of the home-schooled humans that I've encountered as an employer, a citizen & a taxpayer are defective humans. Hey, not my call; they are just defective humans, thanks to mummy & daddy dearest who knew better than anyone how to raise the lil darlings, and then inflict society with the unfinished, rank product.

please - if you're homeschooling - don't forget (...happens alot) to teach science. and its not enough
to learn it or understand it; the heavy lifting is respecting it. science is only a tool; a flashlight that only
lights up our paths....its up to us whether to follow them.

The earth's rotation causes the sun to rise every day. Now maybe God created the earth and sun but like a watch made by a watchmaker it moves on it's own. And for that pic does god use oil or watercolors?

Wayne, did Jesus guide you to the drug abuse and gambling or is Jesus just your crutch to keep you from going back. When you fall off the wagon, the 1st whore is on me.
