So to expound on Pumpmasters post about space exploration I have a question for Wayne. If the bible says we are made in God's image and being the supreme creation of his we have a soul and are supposed to carry on his "word".

What if we discover an alien race that proves to be vastly superior to humans in intelligence? How would you reconcile that with your beliefs? How would you sleep knowing that there was another species out there that was superior to humans who god was supposed to make in his image?

Please answer this in a real manner and not some moronic post saying Jesus is the savior.

Created in the image of God implies we have the capacity to employ His communicable attributes, which are basically moral in nature. Thus, this does not preclude the existence of another race that could be superior in intelligence that is also created in God's image. Therefore, it would not be a deal breaker (for me at least).

But the bible tells us we have dominion over all of gods creatures. What if the alien race could conquer us. That would pretty much negate the bible saying we have dominion over all gods creations.

    PS thanks for answering thoughtfully.

No problem. Btw I think the dominion is over this earth, which Btw should be a call to stewardship of the planet, which man has failed miserablely.

I don't have an good answer for you, but then that is usually the case in the realm of speculation ..

    Peace.

I really like this question it makes you think. Hmmmm, no idea what that would do to my beliefs. As a kid my book shelf was full of books about alien intelligence, space exploration and astronomy all bought by a born again Christian mother. I never thought there was a conflict reconciling the two. Now I will have to think about it, thx lol. Here is a picture I took of a wallops launch from my front porch if your interested.

See I knew you were too narrow minded to even entertain that you could be wrong. I proposed a hypothetical situation, CCCDog gave a well thought out answer that made me think, you on the other had puke up your usual BS. Thoughtless fools like you are why more and more people are turning away from christianity every day.

Yeah, Cdog. I figger God put what we needed to know in the Bible. No more, no less. There could be lots of other planets, and "aliens." Just because somethin ain't in the Bible, don't mean it ain't out yonder in space.

What does the bronze age myth think about morgellon's? A few dips in the holy font take care of those critters?

So you believe the Earth is a little over 2000 years old and all life began then in a garden paradise even though fossil records date back millions of years?

Wayne unless god is speaking to you directly you cannot possibly grasp the depth of his understanding or the complexity of his plan. Ask yourself why God would bypass a logical process like evolution to snap his fingers and have the world pop into being. Even a gardener prepares his garden before he plants seeds, then after planting nurtures them until they grow. Clearly that's how nature works and if nature was designed by God why would he defy his own rules at the very start of it all? My answer is he wouldn't and evolution of species is no different than the evolution of the universe. It is all by design.

Boom! I have always said that evolution does not mean no God. Perfect analogy to the gardner Zippy. Of course Wayne is too closed minded to see anything besides his own narrow point of view. I feel really bad for his kids.

I asked you to speak from YOUR mind and with YOUR thoughts not use bible verses to try and contradict my question of alien life. I guess it is true that you have no thoughts of your own. Although I would be interested to see what verses you can come up with about aliens. My question is not a theory, it's just a question. However based on statistical probability aliens must exist and the shear number of worlds out there that would contain life make the likely hood that at least one of the alien races is more intelligent than us almost certain. There is no ancient verse of prose that could disprove the math proving alien life so good luck trying to throw that under a bus.

To answer your question I do believe there is a higher being. Not the God you like to speak of, not Allah, not Budda and not Kim Jong Un either. I am not sure if a carpenter that lived 2000+ years ago is the son of the higher being and I have seen nothing to make me believe in ghosts.

I call my self a human and not any other ism like you feel the need to label people with.

Because I believe that the bible is the inspired word of god written down by the feeble mind of a human being, a human being unable to comprehend fully what was revealed to him. For this reason I won't be dissuaded from my belief by anyone angrily searching those beautiful revelations for a few words to prove me wrong. Or worse trying to corner me into expressing what I believe to be a private matter between me and him. Even as a little kid as my mom repeated those words over and over and my grandmother chanted her prayers I could never understand how they could believe that all that god is could be housed in a few thousand pages. If I am able to see good in people even with my weak mind why wouldn't god be able to see enough good to fill the universe and have enough love to overlook all shortcomings. My view of god seems to me much larger and greater than what you express.

This is how a true follower of God should think^ Bravo Zippy. Anyone who follows the pages of a book transcribed by men to the exact letter is a moron. Obviously the bible is a good guideline for how to live but it is filled with numerous contradictions and outdated "rules" made up in a time that has changed is lost.

The bible tells people not to eat meat on Friday because during the time it was written there were no refrigerators and people were getting sick so the writers said hey, lets tell people to quit eating meat on Friday because it had spoiled by the. Now days a good steak on Friday night is thing of beauty not something that will damn you to hell.
