Wayne what would intelligent alien life mean for your belief in God?

The philosophical discourse on the mathematical probability of "infinite space" is mind blowing. Suppose if space is infinite, there are infinite numbers of worlds, galaxies, "forevers", etc., so no two worlds should be alike. OR should there infinitely be so many worlds and galaxies that there are galaxies nearly identical to our own with every possible similarity except one minute difference (for example, carter has three more pubes) and the rest of the universe continues on in mirror of our own because.

Right, there is evidence that this guy existed.

There is evidence that a book was written by a bunch of dudes, with absolutely zero evidence to back up any of the back story.

Wayne, the bible isn't evidence. Its a book. Saying its true because its from the bible doesn't make it true. That rhetoric only works when everybody in the dialogue has some buy in.


I believe Jesus existed. I believe humans named the ball of energy that created the universe and mystifies us "god". I believe it exists and its consciousness is unfathomable and undefinable by our standards. I do not believe Jesus was the son of god. I believe he was a righteous dude. I do not believe Jesus is god. I do not understand this holy spirit concept. And I don't claim to be a Christian.

I help the needy, I've housed the homeless, I am good to people and kind to strangers, and I believe in spreading positive energy. Aside from being a womanizing douche that doesn't call girls back, I have to think that if there is a heaven and St. Peter is sitting there judging people, he is going to look at that long line of murderous, judgmental, invasive, arrogant Christians in front of me, and then point to me and say "hey you, front of the line!"

No. I do not. However, that doesn't mean that I won't entertain the idea of a creator, no matter how implausible that idea may be. Evolution has been shown on a genetic level, through fossil evidence, and even on a small scale through experimentation. How do you know a deity didn't create the process that allows evolution when he created the universe? Try and think outside the bible for once. It is completely ignorant to say all the answers are in the bible. Even the fuggin pope knows better than to make such close minded claims.

Gentleman, many good points were made, but let's remember what religion means to Wayne. Wayne is a former addict that needs jesus as a crutch. He is closed minded because he doesn't want to fall back on his old ways. Wayne has serious mental problems that according to his logic, were all gods plan. The guy is a lost cause and unfortunately he gives religious people a bad name/image. How can you really think that evolution is not happening?

I have found that many that do not believe in evolution simply cannot understand it, so they pick the simple answer. I've had Christians tell me that point blank, that they just can't understand it.

I have a Christian friend at work and he was a non-believer in evolution and thought that the world is only 6k years old. He flat out told me that he just doesn't understand it all. I made him a deal, for every Ravi Zacharias podcast I listened to he had to listen to a video of my choosing. I've sent him some vids from Cosmos, etc., all that were very good for explaining these concepts in layman's terms. He's an open minded guy and has a brain and now he's accepted that evolution is real and the world is billions of years old, and doesn't see any conflict with his beliefs.

And I've enjoyed the Ravi podcasts, he has some fresh perspectives on Christ.

I don't think Wayne is capable of understanding it, so there's no point in trying to explain it. Same reason I don't discuss physics with my dogs.

I agree, but pretty much everyone I know that has denied evolution is a Christian and does it based on the bible.

That's the only reason I used them as an example. Not saying Christians are idiots.

 

On the 8th day God created Micah, who in turn created swellinfo, whose main purpose was to solve the worlds problems which were in turn created by god itself. God created Wayne on the 9th day just to frustrate reasonable beings with his mumbojumbo from the bible which is just a collection of heavily edited voodoo scratched out by cavemen who were afraid of the dark eventually used by the ruling class to gain more power and money.
