Wayne what would intelligent alien life mean for your belief in God?

My major gripe with religion, more so revealed religion, is, like, if God, Allah, J.C., Yahweh, etc. is some omnipotent, omniscient being dude, why didn't he, like, leave us a major sign saying so, instead of some paltry book?

Or, better yet, why doesn't he just come out and say, "Hey, guys, I'm real, so, like, be nice to each other or you're gonna burn in hell and stuff, so, just be cool, alright?"

Do you know how much trouble that would resolve? We'd be living in, like, an effing paradise.

Seems like he must enjoy watching his beloved creation destroy its self, and, quite frankly, that ain't the kinda dude I wanna spend eternity with.

Just throwin it out there, think about it, just some test they are running, doing research, lab rats. Not just humans, but earth.

 

So, just out of curiosity..... those people that died in the tsunami, hundreds of thousands of men, women & children just wiped off the planet in minutes....did they, like, bet on the wrong horse or something?

See, I think that religion is a crock. It's a crock because it is designed to fill in a human need. But it is not based upon anything in reality. It is based upon the human passion to control other humans.

The human aspect is the 'need to know.' Humans aren't satisfied with not knowing. Even when there is no information or answer, people want to know. Why? Why?? WTF???

Doesn't matter whether it's our era or the time of hayzeus or the time of the trogs. Humans want to know why; dogs, cats, orcas, dolphins, all the sentient beings, they couldn't give a flying shart snoofer as to 'why.'

But, humans. They have to know. Why.

And this is where it gets twisted. Freaky. Dangerous at times.

Some humans claim that they have the information. That they know why.

Some humans then utilize that self-proclaimed special gift to wield power over all the other humans. It's a basic thing in Nature, from way back, dominance over others, power is the draw, same today as it ever was. It's our evil irresistible driving force within our DNA: controlling others.

So, the bible and the koran and the old testament get invented. By humans. As a tool. As a lever of control. Humans who tell other humans that they have the answer to all the mysteries. Vote for me & I'll set you free! Nothing has ever changed.

Oh, and the shiiite that goes down heavy, that no one can explain? Tsunamis & Hitlers & Idi Amins & Turk genocide on the Armenians & Hutu vs Tutsi, and American lynchings, and your neighbor who gets cancer at age 14, and your hard-working, devoted family man cousin who gets shot to pieces in a robbery at 7-11, and all sorts of evil human insanity....?

Oh, that's 'gawd's will' and that's 'allah's wisdom' and that's 'yahweh's supreme knowledge' and that's 'the spirit of hayzeus.'

Because when you can't explain it, you rework the cookie dough into 'that's not for us to understand gawd's ways.'
