I dont mind the dudes that are stoked out of their minds for mediocre surf, but how about the the guy that always tells you how good they got it and that you blew it! The one that tells you it was all time, best ever, haha.

Dune, maybe you have Hawaiian blood coursing through your veins? Maybe it is head high and you instinctively under-call it? Only give your phone number to guys who measure waves correctly and know the score.

Oh Dune, how's your sister doing? She ever ax aboot me?

Dune, are you a Bible-Thumper or a Pirate? Don't you have to choose one or the other down there on the Banks?

Yo, who was that cop that used to be on here from North Carolina? I forget his handle. He was a hoot.

Dune, you ever hang out in Wancheese?

Hey Dune, you wouldn't harass a certain police officer in Southern Shores for me, would you bro? I still see that guy's face, and it bothers me. Thanks man, I'll give you the plan at a later date. Don't worry it won't be anything illegal.

Nahh, Superfish was a civilian security guard somehow tied to a military base in Virginia. Like many on the internet he passed-himself-off as something else.

Or maybe he is a cop. I don't know. Maybe the above statement will rile him up and get him back on here. I know he looks. He was fun. Plus, my God, did you see his muscles? Him and Harris's brother could be twins for God sakes.

But man it would be an honor to get arrested by him.

The dude I'm talking about, Seen, is from North Cacalacky south of the Outer Banks. Haven't seen him around in many moons. I'm positive he was the police. Dang, just can't recall his handle.

Seen, you get a box of Lee's Press On Lips for the effort, though.

Funny thread, I agree that it's no good to tell someone it's really good out and when they get there it's quite the opposite, but my guess is this can happen easily with how quickly conditions can change, or like some have said, the cams can make it look really good but the reality isn't so. I think what is also funny, is when you tell someone that you are getting it good via text when they are down the road and they tell you they'll be there soon, then they never show and when your session is over you check your texts and then they tell you they checked your spot out but it looked flat so they went elsewhere, but you know for a fact you caught some chest - head high rides and you know for a fact anybody who was on the beach during that time would have seen those waves and wouldn't claim it to be nearly flat. People say the darndest things don't they?

Sick! Lee's Press On Lips dude, I'm psyched! But you're right, Superfish and the brother of Harris could be twins or have quite the bench off. Not sure if I know the law man of which you speak.

Agreed, I always downplay it a bit when I really score.

How about all the guys that don't go out when its waist high because its "not worth it" or "not big enough" and then when a big swell actually comes I never see anyone in the water. . .becuase "I'm waiting for it to clean up" or the "afternoon session will be a bit better" or "off shores are too strong " "closing out" blah blah blah BS!!!! Surf or Don't, its that simple. You never know, that waist high peeler could be the last wave for weeks(especially in summer) or you could die!!

I'm the first one in on the smaller days, love a clean waist high wave with bigger sets. On those huge days I'm also the first to wait for the afternoon clean up, and drop in the swell. In all the years I've been surfing I have had many more bad sessions by jumping the gun at first light only to be too tired or too cold to take advantage of the smaller, cleaner and less crowded afternoon session.

First one in last one out.. but I most certainly follow local winds closely and pull the trigger at the right time.. but on the same end I am a beast and paddle all day long.

see my buddy is the opposite.when he says its fun,it usually means death defying conditions and pros only.

I remember 1 ground swell a few yrs ago he kept blowing up my phone yo get down here bring the boards, lets go out.when I arrived it was epic, but too epic for me at the time.he paddles out,the only one on the whole beach,he doesn't even know how to surf btw,hes just a daredevil looking to show off.anyway hes holding onto the board sideways, and a 8ft set broke right on top of him and washed him to the beach.he was like yoooo did u see that?!!!!!!he was more stoked than I was

I dont understand any of you. You say "be grateful for the little things in lyfe". How are you suppose to even be remotely grateful for something after you were lied to about it.
