WEATHER LOGIX is an Absolute Return fund that is anchored with an intermediate term strategy, often multiple days, that utilizes a unique method of analyzing micro weather patterns and then executes long weather derivative positions when specific criteria are met. The program executes a market neutral strategy designed to exploit the pricing inefficiencies within the over-the-counter weather derivatives market when significantly anomalous weather patterns are detected. Utilizing proprietary weather forecasting techniques and technical analysis methodologies, the program incorporates both historical and forward looking indicators to forecast significant directional bias. Risk Management and Capital Preservation are top priorities. Portfolio diversification naturally occurs thanks to the weather-based discretionary approach to trading. http://www.weatherlogixfund.com/ Any of you have a clue if this is legit? Paging Barry
Not for me. Sounds like gambling on the weather. And that doesn't work for me. Please note- they use a lot of terms and jargon that is non-specific from which you can get NO IDEA what they are talking about. After all, you had to come here and ask, right? That should tell you your answer right there. If it sounds too good, it probably is a scam. Three funds you might like, all from PIMCO (Pacific Investment Management Co): PONDX (I own) PQIDX PBDDX
Why would you be paging Barry? If this was involving pharmaceuticals it'd make sense. But anything else...... the dudes not smart. He just acts smart. Moron
It's pretty cryptic and as Barry said, very ambiguous. I'm putting all my money on it when the markets open Monday. I brought it up since it's weather related. Whether it pays is another story.
It won't pay because it's already been done 1 trillion times. Remember stealing the crop reports in the movie Trading Places. Are you planning on stealing ( gaining an edge on the crop report and all weather related events ) people have been trying that since the beginning of the stock market. But if you want hope atleast it's a proven method. Every investor knows the implications of a hurricane or earthquake, drought, rainy season, you name it.
I don't know much about investing, but have found that some of the pimco funds that Barry mentioned have done (and continue to do) outstandingly well. I have one that is usually returning a % in the teens, like 16%...
