Hey dudes, Ever wanted to build you own hollow wooden surfboard. Now's your chance to do it with me, RIch Blundell, one of the original founders of Grain Surfboards. I developed an innovative (patent pending) method for hollow wooden surfboard construction and have recently launched a workshop program where amateur builders can build their own boards in 2-3 days. I'd like to try and organize a workshop or two in December in FL. Feel like participating? Know a surfer who might be interested in hosting one of my workshops? In any case, you should check out http://treetosea.org (check the workshops sections). Any questions, ask'm here so all can see... Share the Stoke, Rich
HWS workshop I am working in the Ft. Walton Beach area for about a year and would be interested in attending a workshop. I wouldn't mind traveling a bit to attend on a weekend, but Daytona is over 6 hours from here. Any chance of doing one closer to here? So, just so I understand. You provide basically all of the wood, glue and tools/ rocker rack to get the board to a "glued up" stage. Then we take it home, do final shaping, fin/leash plug install and glassing. Correct? Also, given glue drying time, is it realistic to set the frame and glue up all the planks and strips in 2 days? Thanks, Joe
Ft Walton Follow-up Hey Joe, I checked out Ft. Walton, that's pretty far up there. I am trying to get a workshop organized for Gainseville, is that close enough. Otherwise, if you can drum up enough interest in your area, perhaps you could host one yourself and take it for free. Re what you get in the two days, yup you got it. All that in two days. I've been refining this system for about seven years. I've got it dialed. Let me know what you think, Rich
