Well its big. But theres not a darn thing we can do about it. That is unless you like paddling out on o-head conditions with enough froth you'll look like santa. Is the any chance for this friggin wind to drop the flags a little?

i see your from delmarva. the winds are looking to stay onshore, but will become much lighter Tuesday into Wednesday (10-15kt range)...

You think its big here... check out the buoys along the outer banks and down to florida. Florida is in store for one massive swell over the next couple of days. And south florida is looking pretty much epic with offshore winds tomorrow... I can't wait to see the photos that come out of this swell from down there.

Now doesn't florida usually suck? I am going down there this fall, and i was going to toss my boards on my bus and my relitives said dont bother. They said the waves always suck in florida. Now that one picture doesn't look sucky to me, that looks friggin incredable. Oh well, i guess i'll bring the boards anyway and find some good spots on the way down, and hopefully theres a big offshore hurricane of something.

That area can get good. I've surfed down there a handful of times. There are a lot of longboard type waves... But, when it gets some size, you can get some decent short board type waves.

For deerfield area, you want a good amount of N in the swell direction. If the swell direction is more NE, then you sometimes have to drive north to the palm beach area. Just give swellinfo.com a check before you head down.

    Well. . . take II

I've been to Deerfield, and the best that can be said is that it's considerably more mushy than Cocoa is, and that's saying something. The other problem is actually finding a beach that's not a fortress of Coquina rock. It's been some time since I've been there, but Admin is right when he says drive north to Riviera Beach (just north of West Palm).

John Parton (Fox Surfboards) used to surf Miami, but not much as I recall, that's why he had time to build so many surfboards.

Delray and Palm Beach area are generally more consistent and bigger, but it can get good to the south -> Just requires a very northerly swell.

no... i didnt get your message, it wouldnt let me open it cause of my pop up blocker. but anyways i didnt get any pics cause my buddy has my camera (i need that back jake). but heres the deal for anyone wanting to surf it without a boat. there is a parking lot right over the bridge after fishermans. from there you have to take a 20 min paddle across this inlet to get on the island and then sprint to the bridge tunnel on the beach. its so worth it though!!! it breaks the best between the two bridges... freight trains and the bridge just lines it up soooo nice and takes out all the chop, its freiking sick!!!

sweet! to view your private messages, just got to the very top of the page where is says:
Welcome BonerSurfs, and click on Private Messages.

That was an ideal swell for that place. Was there a crowd?

there were 5 other people out, but the waves are so long it takes a few min to paddle back out to the peak after you catch a wave so the crowd is not even a problem. if a swell like that ever happens again GO TO FISHERMANS ISLAND!!!! its ridiculous there, im still amped from it (if you can tell). and like i said **** the boat, you just gotta paddle across fishermans inlet which is scary and takes a little while BUT WORTH IT!!! the place is just nutty you gotta see it to believe it

Wow. I've always wanted to surf there and now i know its done and how to do it. I was looking at it with google earth and it looks like the paddle across the inlet could get a lot harder than it looks if there was a bad current. Were they bad at all? I can't wait for a similar set up scenerio to happen.

ya the current was pretty bad, so you just have to battle it, it really takes a lot out of you. its 0.39 miles and then there is another very little inlet after than one and the run is about a mile and half. so the time from the parking lot to the surf is 1 hour to 1 and a half. you really need to sprint too, cause we could see rangers and on this trail inland. i think they knew it was a lost cause to chase us though. so ya its doable, but its pretty much one of the biggest adventures you can go on, and the paddle is scary as anything
