I posted this in the thread about the storm, but I was curious if anyone had more info and didn't want it to get lost in the shuffle. In regards to the whale in OCMD, I know that the navy just started testing sonar equipment out of wallops island last year. Assateague had three whales wash up last year, not sure about this year. I think delaware had one last year as well and now OC.....I wonder if there is a connection...anyone from surfrider more up on the info?
I wouldnt make a connection...the rap on SONAR is it can disorient whales and their sense of direction and they beach themselves...these dead ones are just washing up in the NE winds
