Hmm, never thought about that, but it does sound like J must be a fan of Bob. Bob Mould's last release was rather good. I think in early 1990's, if someone asked me who/what was the biggest influence on me musically, it would have been |Dinosaur Jr/Lou Barlow's other work| and |Husker Du/Sugar/Bob Mould| 25ish years later, not sure if much changed.
Yes. My favorite Dino Jr. Song, with Bob Mould on stage joining in. Dinosaur Jr. and Husker Du were two of the loudest and best bands i've ever seen (in that order) both round 1988 or so.
My favorite of theirs as well, they just played local and missed it. Never got into Husker Du but I have a lot of musician friends pleading I check them out. That's what's great about missing out on a band is you can get into them years later when there isn't anything new worth checking out. I'm just getting into Devo for gods sake. Jamming the first album from Black Rebel Motorcycle Club for the first time this week, pretty killer.
Primus\Clutch Tuesday night: Slayer\Lamb Of God\Behemoth Thursday night: Amphitheater is right downtown, pretty suite venue.
Right on man. It was our 12yr old's first real metal concert. Great show, plenty of people watching, and she got to see first hand power tripping security. These guys in front of us had a VIP box and one of them stood up on a chair and security lost their freaking minds. For the rest of the night security was just looking for a reason... So at one point they climbed over the rail of the box into the next section, moved some chairs out of the way, and started a pit. Security was either afraid to climb over the rails or their bureaucratic indoctrinated minds wouldn't let them, so they had to go down to the next aisle and all the way around to get them. While they were taking the long road they guys came back over the rail (the old fox and hound double-back) and into the box. I told them that security was coming from that side and they thanked me and ran the other way and disappeared into the crowd. Security showed up to an empty space, then went back to the empty box, much to the enjoyment of the crowd. It was pretty f'ing funny. Later on I came back and one of them was sitting in my seat, looking pretty drunk and worn out from being in the pit all night. He gave me his pit pass so I took off for the front (after stern warnings from the wife to come back in one piece). This old focker hadn't been in a pit in years, but with karma throwing me a pass, fate said go in so in I went. I cut a few laps as it was circling pretty good. Came out and caught a breather, then went back in. Did that a couple more times then headed back to my seats. Made it back in one piece and thanked the dude, then we hooked up someone else with the pass. Felt dayum good to get in and mix it up a lil bit. \m/ metallum perpetuo
