Yeah. Red is always on my rotation. Right, the way Bruford uses trashy cymbals on that record as accent percussion is very groundbreaking. Just one of many bands he has been in where his less-is-more style impresses me.
So I've been listening to a lot of Social D. lately - a good bridge between punk and classic rock. Mike Ness is the G! The video below is a hoot. Enjoy fellas!
Made a mistake in an earlier post, Lombardo never played with Strapping Young Lad, I get all my early 90's metal mixed up, the band I was thinking of was Grip Inc., there was a great instrumental I loved, this is it, I hadn't heard this since maybe the late 90's, still holds up.
I've had this band, and this song stuck in my head for days now. I can't figure out why I'm digging two chords and a kid that sounds like he's singing through a traffic cone...but I am and that's fine with me.
I'm listening to 2 large black women scream at each other. For Christ sake please let some $hit go down!!!!
So the newfangled music apps will show your most listened to songs and albums of the year. I kinda felt like I spent this year riding around in my van listening to 80's jams, and this morning it was confirmed by my most listed to song of the year: What's your #1 song of the 2020?
I pretty much only listen in the car and I've been listening to a lot of 80s hip hop. I think my number one song would probably be this one...
I listen to Tommy Guerrero and The Mattson 2 because they both make me feel like I’m in an old surf flick: I even made a short movie of me on a small wave using the mattson 2 song: https://www.instagram.com/p/B1nmDkQgV8h/?igshid=1d62cy5mqtf47
