You love the Floyd but hate Rock and Roll?
Thanks for that. I enjoy the music of Jamie Johnson. IMO, a throwback to an older style of style of country music compared to much of the pop-like stuff put out over the past several decades. Too bad some numb nutz didn't silence the ringing cell phone.
Some late 70s southern rock.
haha same here...hard to believe 22 years ago Pablo Honey came out....bought the CD and maybe listened to it 10 times. There are guys in my office who play their new stuff non-stop. I'll hang out for a while and listen, and it just seems so moody and intense, with a guy sort of whining rather than singing. But I like some downright questionable music that I swear is good, but nobody else gets...
I do dig old motorhead a lot. The original lineup of Lemmy, Philthy Phil Taylor and Fast Eddie Clark mostly. My god...listen to "Ace of Spades"(or dozens of other songs) ...just an explosion of sound made by three guys in lockstep. Yeah I've seen that movie, and it kind of bums me out for some reason...he seems like the walking dead sitting in the Whiskey playing poker machines, but still crushing it on bass and singing his nicotine-crusted lungs out.
So... Motorhead is pretty much the most baddasss band in history. Not only are their originals classic metal, but Lemme has collaborated with and covered so many great artists... You could write him off as a typical drughead metal freak, but really... he's a genius. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qcRtezB51Ok
