Just for some good ole' discussion, what do you like in a board? I.e. What do you tell your shaper to put in it? Single to double concave, vee, concave deck, step rails? Just for the halibut.
single to double. flat or slight concave deck (depending on the shape). About 80/20 hard rails. Pointed to Round Pointed nose. Round tail 8 out of 10 times. Thurster Fins Boxes (Love glass ons, but I don't like to be married to fins on any board anymore)Length/Width/Volume variable based on the applications. Lot more to it than that. But along with my shaper know all of that info, the only other things I tell him are what kind of waves I want to be surfing and what kind of maneuvers I would like to be doing with the board and he takes it from there. But if Im in a bind, and I need a board, I scour the racks for something that has most if not all of those characteristics. I will occasionally step outside the box with my Quad Fish and stuff. But generally, thats a wrap.
Haha. Nah, when you first posted it, it was a broken link. It was missing the [ . I just reposted so the whole class could see.
this is my exact go to board 5'5" single to double concave with good amount of foam under chest area for good paddling and very fast and drivey in all conditions, really good in hollow barreling waves as a quad+nubster setup
For those flat spells, maybe something like this: http://www.bing.com/images/search?q...D589FC23696FF61DEAFE8B1871E&selectedIndex=100
