even better would be to teach children that taxation is theft, and to teach adults that theft is wrong

    Food for thought...

    http://www.princeton.edu/~mgilens/G...ens and Page 2014-Testing Theories 3-7-14.pdf

Summary: America's not a democracy or republic, its an oligarchy, and its getting steadily worse.

If you want the cliff notes version with comments there are several sites out there. Couple links below but I can't speak to the integrity of the sites or the comments they make. I prefer to stick with the original docs when I look at things like this, even if it's a bit of a PITA to read.

    Thanks MIS.

Looking at Eisenhower's farewell warning speech and things like this...it makes sense. Sucks, but it makes sense. You can read it but I think its better to watch it. Only a couple mins.

Again, Im not "Mr Politics" but that libertyblitzkrieg article is basically a summation of my views and exactly what I was trying to voice in my lay-man terms. My brother and father are Poli-Sci majors, but have completely different beliefs.

Im just a guy, with a family on the grind. Trying to keep it moving ya know. I just feel like most of my life, I have fit into the category that no one, politically gives a fu** about. Growing up, I wasn't even close to rich, but my parents were college grads, worked hard and provided well. I have a college education. Im not poor. Im not rich. Im a white dude. For all of these things, Im just stuck in the middle. I feel like every push for change since I was a kid, old enough to understand the world, has always been for the next guy.

I make too much to qualify for affordable healthcare, but I don't make enough to be paying the $500 a month I do. The banks got bailed out, but I still had to pay off all my debts, IN FULL to them. I didn't get a break on college loans. Nothing. And I feel like its all the people, that are just like me that are full supporters of how this country is working. Like my brother. He is a couple years older, but in the same boat as me... He is all about Obama Care. He is all about civil rights for gay people and minorities. He is all about anti-war. He is all about all this stuff, and I want to be like, WHEN ARE YOU GOING TO START CARING ABOUT YOURSELF???? Im like, you pay for your own healthcare, you aren't gay, you aren't a minority, you aint in the military, so why are you so high on today's american system? I mean, maybe people like him are just bleeding hearts. He makes a decent living and stuff and maybe he just isnt as cynical as me and really wants to spread his hard work to those in need.

Ive just lived in too many places and seen too many people just sucking the system dry and year after year I am coming out my pockets more and more. And now all these people who aren't paying into the system are finally getting up and voting, making the acceptance level of this sh** even more gut wrenching.

    Current rant. Over.

Here in the US we have the illusion of choice. Anyone who argues strongly on either side of our political system is part of the problem. I like to say it is pro wrestling for the educated. When the redlight on the camera is on they rant and rave against each other, but when the light goes off theyhave a beer and cigar and talk about the next show. Republican or democrat the same people are pulling the strings.

And we have only a year or so til the next round of pretend rivalry for President that gets staged on the MSM. I wonder how many people write in "Homer J. Simpson" for pres? I'm sure it's gotta be up in the 1000s... oh factcheckah! calling the royal factcheckah!

Yeah, I don't want to spoil it for everyone, but the torch will be handed to Mrs. Hillary Clinton... Surprise Surprise. I think the republicans should just save their campaign money, concede and we all move on. Honestly, with the candidates chosen by the republican party, it makes you think they are on the democrats payroll? I mean, if their only qualified candidates the GOP could come up with in 8 years were Mitt Romney and John McCain, then the political system has spiraled out of control beyond repair. I mean, out of EVERYONE in this country, those are the two BEST candidates they had to put out there? I mean seriously? WTF? Throw Sarah Palin in the mix and boy oh boy, I am serious, the GOP is on the Dems payroll. They have to be.

Again, everyone will get all jazzed up, ***** and whine for a year, the GOP will put some schmuck up for the primaries and then life goes on. I mean, I don't even think Hillary will have to campaign at this point. She can just show up for the acceptance speech with Bill and walk off into the sunset.

dude you're on to somethin there with that crackpot theory!
Ill go one step beyond and say The Republicans will most likely do the bidding of their masters and put up Rand Paul. This will serve the purpose of discrediting the Libertarian movement which scares the bejesus out of both dems and reps. Rand is not his father and will betray every tenant of Libertarianism. so it is prophesied!

I don't know. I would say Rand is about 75 libertarian and about 25 percent GOP. We really need to clone Barry Goldwater.

At this point we could clone Barry, Teddy R, Ike, Abe, George W, throw in Old Hickory, give em all giant mech robot suits and a license to vaporize any ahole politician they see and it still wouldn't fix this mess.

But it would be a good start...
