    Back out to the ocean....
When are the weather patterns gonna shift so that we start getting swell from the east again?

Yeah for sure, lets hope the spring starts cranking up again. Last year early-mid spring was solid.

Seriously though, is there any indication out there that weather patterns are going to shift any time soon other than the inevitable tilting of the earth's axis? It seems the weather's been variable the only thing that has been constant is the lack of swell. This is my first winter here but it seems like it has sucked big time.

Being the climate nerd that I am, I have to make a correction - sorry:

the tilt of the earth's axis doesn't change - it is always at 23.5 degrees. It is the revolution around the sun that creates the change in seasons (the tilt is towards the sun in summer - away from the sun in winter).

But, anyway, last winter was outstanding... This January was dreadful, hopefully February will be different.

Surf4lyfe02, I think that whining about the lack of waves will definitely make more good waves come... you should definitely keep whining, whiner

I just had a serious idea... Like this weekend, we should all paddle out and form a circle and perform some kind of ceremony to make waves come! For real!
