The 5 Emotional Stages Of Being Banned

    1. Denial and Isolation
The first reaction to learning of being banned is to deny the reality of the situation. It is a normal reaction to rationalize overwhelming emotions. It is a defense mechanism that buffers the immediate shock. This is a temporary response that carries us through the first wave of pain.

    2. Anger
As the masking effects of denial and isolation begin to wear, reality and its pain re-emerge. You are not ready. You feel guilty for being angry, and this makes you more angry.

    3. Bargaining
The normal reaction to feelings of helplessness and vulnerability is often a need to regain control–
Secretly, you may make a deal with SIMOD in an attempt to postpone the inevitable.

    4. Depression
Sometimes all you really need is a hug.

    5. Acceptance
Reaching this stage of banning is a gift not afforded to everyone. This phase is marked by withdrawal and calm.

Coping with being banned is a ultimately a deeply personal and singular experience — nobody can help you go through it more easily or understand all the emotions that you’re going through.

The best thing you can do is to allow yourself to feel the grief as it comes over you. Resisting it only will prolong the natural process of never being permitted to post again.

Careful there, shortboarder...you're treading dangerous waters. You've made a lot of improvement lately, don't want to see you get voted off the island yet.

Thankfully, whiteturddropmeat is gone into the kingdom of the banned. You got into it pretty hot & heavy with that asspon - - you might be bringing some of that residual hatorade A-Game when it's no longer called for, which could get under Simod's saddle. Just sayin'...

    Surf's up, somewhere.
