i was wondering what schools everyone is going to, just out of curiosity. i am probably on the younger side of the spectrum as im a 16 and i go to howell high.
I have been out of school for awhile now and all the advise is go to trade school. There is far more demand for people who know how to build or fix things out there now that there was ever
Matt is right about trade school, but for me I'm going to Flagler college next year as a freshman. Flagler is in Augustine Florida. It's ill, come visit if you want.
im going down to st. Augestine next week to look at Flagler, any reccomendations for things to do and where to surf when i get down there
how do you like it down in st augustine? have you surfed that area before? I'm planning on heading to flagler too. havent gotten to visit yet.
I go to Manhattan College, it's a small catholic college with about 3,500 undergrads. It's actually not even in Manhattan, it's in a very suburban like section of the Bronx called Riverdale (school was originally founded in Manhattan, changed locations in the 1800s but kept the name). It's obviously not near surf but I know that if I need to get home for a swell that the combined subway/nj transit ride is only 2 hours, Rockaway is about the same distance away. My favorite part about college is the study abroad options, STUDY ABROAD = SURF TRIP
DUDE! i am literally right across the river from you!!! I live in Tenafly, NJ and go to Tenafly High School, and when I look across the palisades out across the hudson river, I see Riverdale and that whole area! It feels good to know that I'm not one of the only surfers living this far from the ocean!!! hahaha
St Augustine is sick. I'm actually going to Flagler over Drexel and south carolina. Flagler has really good academics and most of there professors are ivy leauge professors that move there to retire. The town itself it real tourist destination since it's the first town in the US. The beach is about a 10min drive just over the bridge with consistent waves and very warm water. Girls are hot, palm trees are everywhere, warmth, cheap, good college. A little small and strict thought, but well still party
I go to Penn in Philly... not too bad of a drive down to south Jersey. You can take a train from 30th Street Station into AC in about an hour and a half too, so that's pretty sweet. hey Endless summer, one of my buddies from high school goes to Manhattan. what year are you?
TOWSON!!! bra!! Not a ten minute drive to the beach like Flagler or UNCW but close enough to snowboard lib or surf oc. Pretty good surf club that goes to OC alot and makes atleast 3 trips a year to OBX. Down side a good amount of jersey guidos and bmore lax bros.
hopefully in the fall Monmouth u which i only live 5mins away from and what i love about it is as a second year student i get aboard and im going no where else but Sydney Australia
Nice bro! I am a Towson Grad. 02'. I am 29 now, but I loved TU. I was never in a surf club there, but I got an email about one a few years ago. It sucked driving 2 hours to OC when there was swell, but for all the WOMEN at TU, it is a much better option than Salisbury. I played soccer at Towson which is kind of why I went there. But the day I graduated, I moved out to SD. TU was sick though. You are 110% correct about all the Guidos from Jersey... But man, back in the day, some of the best pieces of as$ on Campus were those Jersey Girls... They loved us Maryland boys... It was like 60% NY/NJ students down there when I went. It was always crazy to me, cause they all paid TWICE the tuition out of state. So TU does heavy heavy recruiting up there.... Go TIGERS!
