So, it's the middle class whites .. hmm this is a new tact. I thought it was the greedy corporations.

You do realize that by blaming this particular group you are participating in the tactic you of which are accusing them?

I didn't realize that evil and sin could be attributed to pigment color, nationality, or ancestry. I thought is was caused more by ones ethics, morality, (possibly ideology) and ultimately their actions that violate what is good for the community or the property and livelihood of others. Hmm .. I gotta go rethink matters...

If you work in healthcare you definitely felt the changes made by the current administration... Things don't appear to change until they have a direct effect to you.

Classic excuse for barbarism. Slavery is wrong now, and it was wrong then. Same goes for the oppression of one's beliefs upon another.

Didn't justify it then, doesn't justify it now. That was actually one of my points, which you so blatantly missed. The logic was the same then, as it is now- the justifying of war and the suppression of others beliefs by racial and religious superiority continues today, as it always has.

I don't watch garbage like MSNBC- I don't have cable, or a TV, actually. Your worldview excuses barbaric actions and supports the hierarchical structure of our society. Mine doesn't.

Seldom, Lazy, and SIsurfdog, thanks for taking the time to read a well thought-out post. It ain't flat where I'm at but a 20+ sideshore is killin it.. despite what Swellinfo says.

I'm not blaming any one race or religion as a whole they have all been manipulated through out history by those in power so that those in power can remain wealthy and in power. The only thing that might unite the human race is an alien invasion but I'm sure some body would sell out for power and wealth. And so it goes.

Not at all. I was summarizing the racial and religious power dynamics of our country's history. Mainly I was trying to point out that racial and religious superiority have always played a role in our country's history, and that these concepts continue to stabilize our class structure at home and foreign wars abroad.

I'm sure that on this forum, with all the time spent in Nica, PR, and Hawaii, many of us view the colonization of those places as a barbaric and inexcusable act. I wanted to point out that these terrible things occurred under 'religious superiority,' which remains very relevant today.

You should know. You're the very person who said this about Islam:

In Latin America and Hawaii, colonialism has a clear Christian underpinning; it is undeniable that in these places, Christianity was forced on others. So maybe we should 'call it into question,' as you say?

For an articulate man, your response to my original post was rather childish.

EDIT: All you Christian believers should check out Church World Service. They're a conglomerate of 30-something different Christian denominations. They do great work around the globe, and give a better name to Christianity than any of the hate-mongering and divisive bullsh*t you see on TV.

Yes. He took on the cross for them too.

I think most people have no problem with being compassionate to refugees. I think the concern is that the govt does not have a good plan or means to vet the immigrants, since from the same region where ISIS is, and this could be used as a means for ISIS to get in. Granted, they are already gaining access via other means, and the govt has let some slip through the cracks (ref Boston Marathon Bombers, San Berndino).

Let me preface this that I am not for any candidate at this time, but I think this is Trump's point (articulated poorly by him), that since the gov't cannot vet the process, put it on hold until they figure it out and don't make another mess out of haste. It seems he does not know how to say things without ticking people off. But at the essence, he does raise issues. Granted, his solutions are questionable.

Fixed it for you. LEGAL immigration is fine. ILLEGAL immigration is (you guessed it) breaking the law. If people choose to break the law, then they need to be punished according to the law. Are you saying it's fine to break laws? Why should other immigrants (past and present) come here legally but other people can break the law and feed off govt subsidies only reserved for citizens? Wow, NOYA (including illegals).

So just the Christians forced their ideas on others,as i recall the moslem empire was pretty much the whole Med . If you didnt convert the muslims just cut off their heads so to say that the christians are bad is idiotic cuz the poor muslim empire was a just a group seeking religous freedom. The demands are for the Bagdad caliphate to be restored to its greatest expansion which was accomplished by military action not one of doctrine

Yes, I did get a bit sarcastic, and at times I let it get the best of me, and off message. I was reacting to the indictment on the middle class, which has taken a beating in many areas. It just seemed odd to me that the middle class would be dictating American imperialism or oppression, since they are only a couple rungs up from the bottom, and typically a hard working, compassionate group.

But to your point, I would agree that using "racial and religious superiority" is wrong, and that those who claimed to be "Christian" and used such means were/are wrong and in violation of the principles and paradigms laid out by Christ and the apostles. Thus, one might question the veracity of their faith, and whether they are really wolves in sheep's clothing. Indeed such things should be called into question, and judging the tree by the fruit, were the perpetrators really Christian? There are no excuses.

Likewise, I would not necessarily attribute this country's "imperialism" to Christianity. I don't think that was the m.o. of the people on the Mayflower. They were escaping an oppressive state religion in quest of a place they could freely worship God in the manner in which they believed.

These things malign and distract from the good that Christ and Christians have brought into the world. It is very sad.

Thanks for pointing out that there are groups and movements still doing decent things in the name of Christ.

ben carson is the dr guy right?that guy cracks me up,hes really smart and really stupid at the same time.every time he talks it sounds like hes been stealing the pain meds from work.his eyes are always closed,he speaks like me lol a true burnout lol,but on some of the topics he makes some great points.he reminds me of dr house.

as far as the isis thing goes, rubio, sanders, hilliary, trump nobody can stop them.isis isn't just a gang, its literally the whole fukin country, every single person living there is either an isis or a isis sympathizer.shyt we got like 4 different countries doing airstrikes everyday, killing them, yet they always pop up like the moles at the arcade lol.they need to abolish the koran,im actually curious to read a koran just to see what it really says, like do they say blow yourself up in time square and u get 75 virgins or what?we need an arms embargo for the whole middleast.somehow they keep getting top of the line weapons, yea I know its from raiding the military bases but shyt something gotta give.

sad thing is muslims are getting stronger by the number.theres billions of them.but fun fact lol literally .01% are radical islamists, the rest idk what they do but they should go back to their own country.

With about 2-3 million American muslims I'm not sure that's gonna really solve the problem because they are already in their country. They're here by the millions, and that's probably not changing anytime soon IMO.

hopefully the delegates will deny trump if he wins the electoral vote...

and if he actually won in an election, hopefully the electoral college will say, "come on, we aren't doing this sheeet, this isn't a joke morons"

but if he did become president and i couldn't emigrate,i would probably commit a hate crime just to know what it feels like, because in a trump presidency a hate crime will be considered a minor traffic infraction...

    guys... you're better than trump.

trump is probably a trojan horse to expose how ignorant people are. he's not even real. he is a fictional distraction. if you can't listen to him talk and honestly truthfully can't see that he is talking as he goes, bullsheeeeting, he doesn't know whats going on in the world and offering up uneducated knee jerk reactionary nonsense, just filler fluff---- if you can't see that, then you're dumb. its the truth. he is actually a joke.
