I never dangle my legs cause it reminds me of fishing, so I've never gotten out of the water because of a shark. I run across the top when blue fish are blitzing tho.

Get on the board and paddle out for one more, if there aren't lots of bait fish there. And, if you don't get that sharkey feeling. Trust the lizard brain.

They're always there, you just happened to see that one.

Did you hear any Jaws music?

    lol just bustin ye cock-n-balls.

on the real tho...and this COULD potentially be tree talk - i'd pull a full fanning on it: smack it a few toyms then throw the leash around its neck and surf it back onto shore all sparta like. after all whats a shark to a towel?

Personally, I would surf. It's the ones you don't see that are the problem.

You... have to ask yourself, what's worse...getting bit and possibly bleeding out, then going into shock, and or...taking a deep breath underwater blacking out into one big mind and physical shut-down?
Ultimately....another gig in the comedic cosmos, your destiny chooses you so,
    fear no fin.

P.S. shark's great on the grille with some beers and hush pups.

It was waist high and side shore, you shouldn't even have been surfing.

    Shoulda practiced swimming!

Well, you didn't say you were out there surfing. Which makes sense because you can't swim. Since you are in knee deep water, as per your usual modus operandi, why are you worried about a fin? The man in the grey suit can swim, you can't. Caseclosed.

Sharks?!? Well sometimes you don't always see them- but you may see other fish jumping out of the water, usually means a shark is around.

Yesterday I saw a boatload of sardines jumping near me at the line up and it creeped me out a little. Then I remembered someone here said they can smell fear like a dog so I just calmly turned my board toward shore, as I hummed to myself, paddling smoothly in. That was just after 4 pm. And yes, I know I'm in their house but I like to know odds are not going to be in their favor to snack on me...ever!

Handy shark (or bear) evasion tip: Always bring a buddy along. That way you don't have to be faster than the shark (or bear), just faster than your buddy.

SC gots beach death breaks infested with sharks and skeetrs the size of blue jays. Lots of man eaten jelly fish too. No one should surf here!

If you were wearing striped bortshorts no worries though.
