Yesterday we had some really fun surf in OCMD. All was going well with the session when two guys paddled out. One on a glassed board the other on a soft top. The guy on the soft top was wearing an ill fitting dive wetsuit in yellow and black, the other had a hooded winter suit on? The camped themselves down peak from me and paddled for every wave. No matter how clearly i was on the peak they went. Each time i yelled at the top of my lungs "hey, back off! And "don't do it!" They still went. One time after dropping in and after I had straightened off and gotten slammed he turned around and gave me the thumbs up. I was furious. I was at the edge of blowing a fuse when i noticed it was strangely quiet between them. I had my back turned and started hearing strange grunts then turned around and noticed they were signing each other. They were friggin deaf! Breathing a sigh of relief and feling a little bad for my anger I gave them the one sign we all understand and enjoyed the stunned look in their eyes as i paddled away to have a great session.

Just because their ears suck doesn't mean they get a pass, good work.

Learn sign language. A few short hand jestures always suffice.
I pretend to be blind meselfe.

I would have thrown their $hit in the water! Maybe done some sand reconne and then walked them to the windowless white van of duck tape and doom and maybe a bench off after I shotted some piers and finally offered to properly tie their leash around their neck. Did I miss anything?

Nah. Maybe offer them a fake Rolex or a bangin' Hindu dvd, but I'd say you pretty much covered it.

good story...and ending. Yeah, flipping them off gets the point across...even to those who pretend to be deaf (but really are dumb).

I was kind of surfing a different peak than you were Zippy, but close close enough to see what was going on. The first thing I noticed was seeing one of them get a little wave that they actually rode for a bit, then get pounded on the inside for like 3 minutes. While he's still on the inside bailing under waves I see him do what I thought was throw his buddy a few hand gestures that looked like shakas. That cracked me up. Then later I realized those might not have been shakas.

Lol, after burning me it was a given that they would be floundering on the inside right where i would end up if i was able to pull into a barrel. I did love the thumbs up gesture, really pissed me off. Mitchell, when you caught a long left and ended up on my my other side in that rip I was waiting for them to burn you. But unlike me you were smart enough to paddle around them. I just sat there and was kinda enjoying being annoyed by the whole thing.

there's not much difference between a smile and a grimace.
