You know I have thought of that, but it just can't be. I look at modern day pop culture and just shake my head. I ask myself, "Is it me, am I just getting old and out of touch?" NON !!! Everything does suck today. Can you even begin to compare the Kanye's and the rest of the musical garbage today to The Beatles or the greatest band ever, Led Zeppelin. Heck no. People today don't even play instruments, they use computers. Have you seen any The Godfather quality movies floating around today? If you say, "yes" you might have problems. Stuff from the 60's & 70's will be remembered forever, I sincerely doubt that these musical acts of today will be selling albums(CD"S whatever) in 40 years.....

I was looking at the latest Suring mag last night. It has a few travel stories in it. I don't believe one word in any story. Not one word. I don't trust surfer dudes who used to play golf in high school nor do I believe kids whose say that their parents sent them to "SPANISH SCHOOL" in EL Slavador when they were 16 years old. I really don't buy that. I just don't believe that some Laguna Beach-type parents would send precious Skippy to EL SALVADOR for Spanish school, at 16 years old. Of course everything was wonderful and everyone loved him.

Anyways thanks for everone's thoughts and thanks for sharing.

Why not write your own magazine SJB....full of crackpot stories and bizarre surf trips to Iceland surfing with Elves eating pancakes and white women with extremely pastey mammaries.....

Mr. Sniffer, were you being sarcastic? I'm not sure because I can't figure some of you guys out on here. Which is odd, cause I usually size people up in twenty seconds. So, I have to admit I am not sure.

Mr. Sniffer, if you were sassing me, awwww man that hurts. What did I do to you? My stories are the best things on here, and my threads seem to get a lot of views and activity.

Attention dudes with capital......let me run a magazine. I'd feature the everday spots around the world. People love seeing themselves in the media. No matter how bad your spot is everyone loves to see stuff on their hometown. As far as capturing the general community, I know I'd rather see an article on Lake Superior than another Winter on the North Shore piece. I have seen enough North Shore and Indo to last a lifetime. Focus on the more obscure places, and each month a travel article to somewhere unique......like.....like Iceland........Dude, they have pancake-eating elves there. Oh and no sheltering the pros. I'd expose each and everyone of them. Get to know the real dude behind the pictures. I'd interview all the wacked out local characters around the globe. Maybe do a monthly feature, "Crazy Local." Oh man I'd do all sorts of stuff.

Mr. Sniffer if I ever do get my mag, you can be my correspondant from LBI.

Why didn't Dave Paramenter write books? Anybody? Oh and I saw some Dan Duane remarks on some other thread. I read Caught Inside....twice....I got a thing for central and northern California....but he no tell truth in that book. One day he's getting pitched by waist high bangers and the next he's out in "double overhead." He's going to get a new everyday thruster and the shaper's asking him if he rides, " The really big stuff"....No he didn't but he sure wouldn't use his 6'2'' in triple overhead surf if he did. Remember when he used to pen articles for Surfer and he'd always whine about not having a chick. HAHA goodtimes...goodtimes.....He's ok though ya know what I'm sayin?
