They get the protection of the US military on US soil, roadways, medical/scientific research benefits, police access to keep their business safe, etc... The list goes on forever. I know the GOP likes to make it out like this is unfair, just because the top earners pay a few percent more. However, the top earners also own businesses that use more tax funded resources in this country. Another problem with taxing the same across the board, is that it is counter productive. Most of the bottom earners still have to rely on things live food stamps to supplement their income. Take more percentage away from their income, and they will require more assistance. My big problem with our current tax situation, is the huge percentage dumped into military and wars. We cut from our researchers and keep dumping into wars we shouldn't be involved in. I think we need to leave the income tax percentages the way they are, and just do a better job managing where those tax dollars go. Just look at that breakdown above. Food stamps and assistance programs still cost less than the war. So should we cut assistance programs and chance hurting/killing people that actually need it, or end wars that kill American troops and innocent civilians. The answer isn't likely going to come from liberals (increase taxes) or conservatives (cut taxes). And that pretty much explains why I am an Independent.
Def flat tax time. As dr. Ben carson stands behind. Everyon needs to pay ther fair share...and that's the people at the bottom im referring to. No one is limited to opportunity in this country to earn more.
