The responses to the 50 guys out thread got me thinking...what's the weirdest thing you've ever seen at the beach while surfing? I thought I had repressed this one over the years, but the memory came back today and left me needing possibly more therapy:

Mid-90's surfing S-turns, random weekday, waist plus swell, nothing special, and surprisingly not a soul out save for me and my friend. We see a dude checking what we thought was the surf on the dune, then he left. Comes back 5 mins later...carrying two beach chairs, but he's alone. Walks down the beach to our peak - again not a soul around - and plops down both chairs right in front of us. The catch here is the dude was butt-azz naked. No joke. Sitting watching us on an empty beach butt naked with two chairs like he was waiting for a friend who never showed up. My friend and I went from laughing to completely creeped out and decided we'd stay in the lineup as long as it took. Eventually after around 2 hours he left.

    WTF?????????????

In NJ. Wasn't technically surfing, but had my board with me. Every year my then roomate hosted a "Fishing Fiesta". Bunch of friends came down, and surf fished from dusk until after dawn the next day. Drinking and partying along the way.

Shortly after dawn, a guy and girl come down, about 20 yards from us...mind you, the beach is rpractically empty except our group. They clearly have been out all night. The girl proceeds to strip down to her undies, and go in the ocean. Water temps are in the 50's! She swims around, with her friend, and all of us watching for a few minutes, then gets out, wraps her shirt around herself, and they walk away. They never truly acknowledged our presence. Was just so strange.

A friend was working at the Duck Research Pier one summer and he was showing me footage of the video cams they have overlooking the beach and dunes. In one of the clips this chick heads up in the dunes, looks around and sees no one, then proceeds to drop a deuce.

They thought about getting a shovel to bringing it to her and tell her she can't litter on federal property. He had a sweet job so probably didn't want to risk it.

Then there was the study abroad chick from Germany at F.I.T. in Melbourne, Fl. Now, FIT is a total tool box. 8 or 9 guys per girl and she was the hottest thing in the freshman class. Definitely a butterface. Maybe...maybe a 5 or 6 on a good day. Well, at the beach one day, after laying out for about 1/2 hr. a lifeguard had to inform her of our custom to actually use BOTH pieces of a bikini...He wasn't very popular with our crew that afternoon.

Oh, and let me tell you about the time I saw a one of those big azz highway lawnmowers in the shorebreak one morning. I bet there was tequila involved. Or kassers vodka.

I once saw a full on fight club going down. at least 20-30 people, basically refereed by the crowd. They were beating the piss out of each other, taking turns going 1 on 1. It went on for quite a while and the cops never showed up

Saw a random group of chicks dressed up like they were going to some exclusive Dubai sand party twerking the other day at Salisbury. It was really confusing. I didn't know if it was the cold playing tricks on me. I don't even think they were drinking. They had a house right on the water, I think it was a rental. I don't know, it was weird.

Kinda dressed up like these wastes of oxygen

    but twerking. ??

Hell if I know man, I really didn't know what to make of it.

I had a friend that worked the pier in the 80's. Red haired guy named stewart.

Surfing N end of VB, one always sees weird crap. Big as LACs ripping up to Fart story, cutting a hard right then blasting across the beach and over the dune without slowing down is kinda weird.

Seen a dude out on a board, sitting quietly at the end of the lineup, north peak, ob pier. August. ABout 2000 people on the beach. Guards are in the tower. Dude finally gets a wave, stands up and rides pretty much in a straight line, all the way in, butt as$ naked. grabbed his board, walked across the beach and up Santa Monica Avenue. Thousands of people saw this. No one said a freaking word. strange.

He has been walking our beach gender bending for years. He has even taken it to the next level with full make up and literally a pink pouch for a schlong hammock. My son still wonders whats up with that dude and asks me why he wears a top. My answer, I couldn't tell ya little buddy.

Standing on the VB boardwalk mid nineties at southside of the pier one day, mid summer, very flat. Look up and see a perfect glassy wave break at the tip of the pier pushing head high. Then another wave, then another. Start freaking out and wishing I had my board with me, but as soon as it started it ended. A good 6 to 8 waves broke and that was it. Only thing I could figure was a mini tsunami or wake from a big submarine.

That's f'n cool. Every small day when I'm out, ever since I was a kid, I always tell myself that as unlikely as it is, there's always a minute fraction of a chance that some mysto 6 ft set will roll in. Thank you for keeping my dream alive.

As far as my own weird sh!t, idk, I guess I see most of the weird stuff when I'm out of the water. Mantis shrimp are pretty weird, used to see those occassionally.

It was most likely a sub.

I was in a cigarette boat on a perfect, calm, glassy day and we hit a set of them. We couldn't really see them coming due to the sheet glass. Instantly went airborne. One old dude in the boat (with his date) started to loose his toupee. It was a major decision time for him. Hold onto his hair or the Oh Schit! bar. Poor dude chose the head rug. His knees collapsed after the first hit and as we went airborne on each wake after that he was tossed 3-4 ft. in the air and then slammed mercilessly onto the bottom of the boat. When it was done his toupee was hanging down the side of his face a la justin bieber.

I wish there was a schedule of their arrivals/departures. It'd be cool to paddle out on a flat day and catch a few peelers.

Weird, I seen 3 ft bombs outa no where on a flat day but not head high and not 6-8 in a row. That would be a sight.
