What's up, i haven't been on here in quite a while. I see a few stragglers still hangin on.
Hanging on by a thread, brother.
A small but intimate group
It's been a skeleton crew for a while, but sometimes some of the old gang, like yourself, pop on. It was really good to hear from Betty, glad she posted an update.
I don't mind. Surprised that without a decent forecast, and I don't think the video section works anymore, that it hasn't just folded. Advertisers still here though, so the forum remains.
I come here out of sheer force of habit.
I have nowhere else to go...
My Oracle lives Uptown.
No place else will accept me or tolerate my inconsistentcy and poor grammer.
And poor spelling.
...inconsistency and poor grammar.
For the Halibut?
I need to say hi to Betty I saw her thread.
Funny thing is this place is about as active as mostoke, despite the exodus. It can be brought back. Maybe not to previous levels but it's still a better forum.
Maybe we are on our way to what will be?
It very well may be.
Yea if you remove the perpetual circle jerk going on over there it's pretty comparable. I'm cool with SI the way it is.
They need to fix all the issues, forecasting, video section, ect… it's the only way they will get any newbies, if people come on regularly to check those things they will wander to the forumme, as I did.
But yeah, I don't mind if it's crowded or not, it's a lot more mellow and positive. I think I checked Mostoke once earlier this year and it was more politics and covid than surfing. Too much for me, I need to disconnect from that sh!t once in a while. But a lot of good peeps on there, they have their happy place.
Absolutely, Godspeed them. But, like you, I don't have the psychological real estate to debate stuff I see on the news that I have zero control over, and I also refuse to be pigeon-holed into the opposing line of reasoning because I can't agree with the entirety of another. The forecast will never be what it once was here, O Micah, but we could still use this place to check in.
