Nice Willis, def a nice spot....was that later in the day, looks way cleaner where I was at...

I was just saying the forecast for yesterday actually said 5-8+ and wasn't anywhere close and I've been starting to notice a common theme, when we have storms coming from the NE shifting out East when they approach FL, it appears the models have been over calling the swell, not just this site, I'm a member on Surfline, and they're models are almost identical.

I really just want to know the cause of this discrepancy really. Just for my own personal forecasting purposes.

But anyways, looks like ya had fun yesterday, nice waves!

Totally agree, the forecast has been throwing me for a loop recently as well. Ive relied on Swellinfo a lot so ill just do some cross referencing in the future

Kyle, if the swells of marginal worth of paddling out consider jupiter island(north side of the inlet). I cant tell you how many times I've driven to jupiter inlet finding it knee high with 50 people out only to drive 5 minutes to Jupiter island and surfed chest-shoulder high swell with 5 other people. Granted it's a bit rocky and super sharky but if you're not a complete noob like 95% of the surfers here try giving it a shot, you might be surprised how much bigger waves the (more) northern facing beach pulls in. Plus its way less crowded. Nothing attracts a crowd while surfing like a crowd, and this is especially true for south Florida (blue water = more shark sightings?) I've found.

Just because 50 groms and gramps are surfing the clean inside dribbles that roll off the south jetty doesn't meant that's "the spot", it just means the high population around S Fl creates a high(er) population of sheep that follow each other to the kiddy pool. Also if any of you C/N Fl surfers want a quick laugh one day when there's NE swell take a quick look at the jupiter cam at evsjupiter.com at the crowd on the south side, inside dribble and then at all the larger, empty waves stretching for miles to the north.

Really dude? Times like these make me hate the internet. Coming from one of those few surfers who surf there SHUT THE F@#& UP!! Why go around posting where the better uncrowded waves are? Wont be uncrowded for long if people like you are telling everyone about it

    Lol agreed Willis...

And once again, not looking for a good "spot" I know where I like to surf....I was asking if anyone has an explanation for the over call of NE swells shifting East of the FL coast, that is all.

Thanks for the head's up, but well aware of everything you mentioned Vilano.

Willis, LOL I hear what you're saying, maybe I'll share some waves with you sometime!

Forecaster, is this issued corrected, I've noticed the surf heights have dropped in the past day, that the correction or just less development than expected?
