I will admit to rockin' trucker hats...in all honesty I have a 7 5/8 dome piece so they're sometimes the only hats that fit. I don't wear super cool ones tho, or ray banz...
Trucker Hats were thick back in the 90s...errrr surf company just aboot had one on the market Oakley Ray Banz they all been sponsors of surfers since before most of us were born bruh
yeah man i have real tree hats.... and mossy oak. i dont front i represent. im trying to get sponsored by real tree and cope. ill just smile with my camo surfboard with a pinch in while doing a carolina cutback. hats and sun glasses had always been around.
When I travel (here in the dirty souff) I like to wear a hat from a bait shop and have some fishing poles strapped to the roof along with the boards or sticking out the window. That way the cops think I'm not one of those hippie weed smoking surfers.

Only trucker hat I have I claimed as a trophy. Was longboarding on typical summer slop at Topsail a few years ago and some young guy comes out with his shortboard (w\ stickers of course), his Rip Curl trucker's hat, his Rip Curl shorts, etc. I catch wave after wave, he's waiting for that magic 3 foot set...Finally he picks his wave...and eats it, doesn't even come close. Looses his hat. Searches frantically for it. Gives up. I catch some more, just short lil EC summer rides. He goes for about 6 waves in an hour, eats it every time, then gives up and leaves. About a half hour later the kids find his hat and bring it to me. To be fair, if he'd still been there I'd have returned it. But since he bailed I claimed it as a trophy. Score one for the old guy.
Thats pretty funny mang!! I saw this come about in Moto about six yrs ago , oversized truckers with the ears tucked in, and big a$$ glasses . I think its guys tryin to hide their big ears , bald head, and Kooky eyes. Surfers used to cut the trends unintentionally, now they just get on board. WHatev!!
I used to wear the original Ray Ban Wayfarers back in the '70s... old guys will remember the thick black plastic frames with super dark lenses. That was before the mirrored lenses came out. The were the darkest lenses you could get. ...wait... isn't that a ZZ Top song? Anyway... no trucker hats for me. Nothing worse than an old dude trying to dress like a teenager.
