Hello. I know were still atleast a couple months off. Im from new york, and like many, im very excited to go in one weekend and find the water a little warmer. So rather then putting on the thick booties and gloves, i want to be minimizing them, or removing them completely like many. When should this amazing day arrive. my guess is mid march. I hope i dont sound impatient, but it was on my mind and i though why not ask. Thanks.

The water gets warmer in March, like you guessed. It won't be "warm" but it will be warmer. Its not really "warm" until early July, maybe late June.

seen a guy out with no gloves on in February....needless to say this shows you who is out surfing in the winter more than anything. I start to peel some rubber in late April/Early May

March is often the coldest water of the year... There is a lag between when the air gets warmer compared to when the water warms up..

The water will very gradually warm up in April and May.

BUT, the air temps do make a difference, and in march is when we see the air temps rise. So, if you get a 60 or 70 degree day, then then it makes a whole lot of difference.
