ill have about $10,000 to dedicate to perpetual surf travel from November to may. will be based out of the pnw and or nor cal. where would you go?
with $90 one ways on Norwegian air been thinking strongly bout that. do that till January till the chick gets to Monterey then do tactical strikes to hawaii and latin america canada and the pacific north west is one possible game plan.
off season indo could be fun but im plannin my big indo-australia-new zealand- tazmania- fiji- new caldonia trip for 2019-2020(? hopefully forever) feel like going in their summer might be a bad call for your first time
i thought i saw Frontier doing a bunch cheap flights. i think they are based by you up there. With that dough, i'd knock out a region like the Caribbean. I'm sure ya got some places in mind tho already. Barbados is becoming more real for me, planning a trip in April w a buddy
Detox. Best, and toughest, break you'll ever surf. Having said that (and you knew I would, and it's not an attack on you), I'd concur with Indo. Or bounce down through CR, then over to Indo. You're a good enough surfer, you're young, you have no ring or mortgage holding you in thrall. Indo.
And leave the quebec froglette at home--they are culturally trained to not mind your being away; at least, mine never has.
havent drank or smoked since the beginning of July. wasnt hard to stop at all. will return to drinking everyday once this fire assignment ends and quit again once i go back out. drinking is a non issue for me
yea ill have been away from her for six months once i see her again, and then ill be away all fall and winter till she comes west coast should spend some time wit her
yup no one gets laid during fire season but on the plus side i earned five grand this past two weeks and worked 112 hours per week doing fun stuff
definitely considering indo but should i really head there during the rainy season? to those who have spent time there is this a good idea for a first timer?
Been to Indo several times. Never in Nov through March. The earliest I've gone was April. The Southern Indian Ocean is prob the most active ocean in the world and I doubt there would be any shortage of swell. I've seen pics of Ulus in December absolutely firing. If I were you I'd do it like Barry said. In fact it would be a great time to go for the first time. Less crowded. Have a home base in Bali and keep an eye on the charts. If something pops up it's a cheap jaunt to Sumatra to hop on a charter to the Mentawais. That time of year the boat charters are are waaayyyy cheaper. Your a goofy footer and G-Land is a must also. The camps there are also gonna be way cheaper too. G-Land also picks up more swell than Bali so the chances of scoring it are pretty high. Bali also tons of high quality waves that you don't hear about. It's dirt cheap to stay and getting around is easy if you buy a scooter. Jut sell it when you leave. In fact I recall watching the Padang cam this winter and seeing overhead waves with a handful of guys on it.
