Hi all, New to the forum here, but have been surfing Oregon off and on for the last couple years. I mostly surf shorties and pacific city, but am having a devil of a time trying to find places to surf with all the huge swells we've been having so far this winter. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind some good sized surf as long as there are defineable peaks, but the last couple weeks it seems like it's been endless whitewater, and when you do get outside it's often not much more than punishing closeouts. I know being limited to surfing weekends doesn't help matters, but what I'm really looking for is a more protected spot to surf within a couple hours of Portland. Anybody have any ideas? On the plus side, the fishing has been good on my way home from the beach. I may have some steelhead fillets or jerky to offer up to someone who can point me in the right direction. Kampai!
