Talk about leg burners... I didn't think it was true until I surfed chicama - first time I ever kicked out of a wave because I was bored and didn't know what to do next and wanted to rest... Lol finest wave I ever saw... But crazy trip to get there...

Chicama is sick when it is pumping but is honestly kind of lame when the swell isn't huge. It gets really slow and soft and kind of annoying. There is another left up the coast that gets more swell and can break just as long but also gets maxed easier. I reckon chicama never gets maxed as I was there during a huge swell and it was only like 2 foot over head

Awesome man. I hope you score, and I hope there's something left here when you get back!! Post pics and tales!

As for me... I'm gonna have to vote Chicama, as I'll be in Peru in August!! I might not be a good surfer, and I might be reg-footed, but Queens land is the land of lefts, & I'm damn comfortable going backside.

dood - if its your first trip i'll help you get dialed in if interested. chicama is what the photos suggest HOWEVER it is quirky and doesn't really get big….when the swell gets big it seems to increase the
breadth of the swell as opposed to height. if you catch it the third section you will enjoy a tunnel that
is completely circular. if the swell is down don't bother with it: instead off to puermape - the ghost town
to the north where you can surf naked and dine in the town square naked which is a unique experience.
the reason nobody cares is it REALLY is a ghost town.

Namibia, except for the ones that hit the bar and double up into a big whomping shorebreak on the sand.

Yeah tobacco is bad news. Vape is a nice alternative. I've managed to go from 24mg down to 6mg, which is HUGE considering I was at 1.5 packs a day not all that long ago. I'm at the nicotine equivalent of about 5 cigarettes a day now. I've had more success with this over the gum or the patch. No grumpyness, no binge eating, no metabolism drop, no jitters, I can breathe again...anyone on cigarettes I'd recommend going to the vape.

I've been rocking P90X at night, gym morning. Double sessions brah. I haven't tried insanity yet, been meaning to give it a whirl, I hear solid things about the core workouts. The lady does kickboxing, she's been trying to get me there but my ankle is pretty effed up still from a 5K zombie run I did a bit ago. Chick is a cardio beast, probably knock me out if she caught me slipping too, girl's got some squobbles with the shin kicks (She's a southie chick too, so she's got that angry celtic knife you in the neck attitude).

As for the softie, it floats. It moves. Stable as all hell, sort of like riding a living room full length coffee table. It's fun, but I like to go fast and shred (snowboarding/wakeboarding sort of poisoned my perception of board sports), something I can't really do yet nor can I do on my floating cadillac el dorado. I might be getting ahead of myself though.
