Surprisingly only burned one prior, drank a few after though, beer taste great after all that salt water
Got in a nice 2+ hour sesh Sunday afternoon. There were quite a few people out, considering it's February, but take a weekend day, decent shoulder high+ swell, with some light offshores, and throw in air temps in the high 40's / low 50's and they will come. When I arrived, nice lines were rolling in. Below are a couple quick pictures I took before getting in (not high quality or of the best waves, as I was itchy to get wet, but they do give an idea). Several peaks were working. The tide was heading out, so it gave a little more punch as time went on. One spot was a bit crowded, started to close out a bit, and started to get a little choppy (currents/rips), so I noticed an unoccupied peak down the beach a quarter mile or so. I nodded to a buddy and we were off. We had the spot to ourselves and it started working nicely, and it was more glassy than the peak we abandoned (used in a positive way ). Caught a several nice waves, got worked by a few (took a couple on the head, and some current and rogue sets made it a challenge to get back out if you got caught in the wrong spot). Was a little "off my game", but still was fun. As always, great to be in the water and it definitely hit the spot.
Anyone following the reports and think tomorrow morning will be good in new york? Theres going to be swell buts its not such a good direction for us (ESE) and the winds will be moderate NE in the morning quickly changing to E/ENE. Just wondering if anyone plans on surfing?
Thought I was going to get through this winter without a cold or the flu. Less than a month to go. But it was not to be. Caught the crud. Out for a week.
Got a few Sunday around low tide in OC NJ. Water in the high 30s but air was in the 50s and it was kind of sunny some of the time. Felt good in a hooded 5/4, 7mm boots and 5mm gloves except for my right hand which got cold and then numb but I think my gloves might be too small.
Yea... Sunday was really fun. Funny you mentioned your hand getting cold. I discovered a tear in my 5mil glove that same day... the hard way.
come on lets hear it from you all up in MoCo and RI. If today's south swell lit up Delmarva, it had to be pumping up north!
Firing... Sick, racing barrels. Mostly unmakable up here. Horrendous current. Drift only. Few takers. Nice.
Nice..i figured as it would be what Delmarva got but on steroids. We had friendly makeable barrels and manageable drift. so sick...a real south windswell..not long period, not dribble.
nice pics. north nj had a few gems yest but not as nice as that. lot of closeouts but the random makeable one was worth the efort
Only got 4 waves this morning. Each one was about 6' and long AF. Liners, some would say. Happy Friday!
Dam bruh. I was supposed to hit up SB yesterday but had too many responsibilities. Getting out tomorrow for sure. There's a good pulse coming again.
