who here has been surfing this week?

There was some surf here the last few days- surprising that not many people was out, specially with the warm air temps. I mistakenly grabbed my 6/5 instead of my 4/3- I was baking out there, some fun waves, surfed alone. Good conditions except for the swell direction... I really dislike straight up east swells... Really gotta drive further to a spot that can handle them, like Belmar...

 

4 times this week lunchtime/early afternoon off Dam Neck. Weather was great. Water approaching 50 now. Surf-wise, one had to be patient and do a bit of paddling, but there were a some fun, longboard-able rides to be had. I was the only one out there this week. A bit sore tonight and "medicating" with a couple cold ones.

 

Sounds like a pretty fine week, actually. Props DOS

 

Delmarva had a decent week as well. I managed a midday session yesterday that was actually quite fun. Swell was from the east thus over lined at times but really jumped up on the tide turn.

 

well flat today, so I'll never find out what happens on day 5, which I'm okay with, I thought a worm hole might open up.

 

We found some east swell bowls on Teusday evening in Dirty Jersey! Had some victories and some a$$ wooppins. I'm really enjoying the new Roberts Meatcleaver GYSOT!!

Waist high with some OH sets just after sunrise, 14 sec and glassy. It was gorgeous . 74 water and air temp, 5mph offshore Florida delight. It was too big for me but I did catch a couple of smaller rides with my gang, and had a front row seat to some outstanding surfing. Size came down mid morning. Then end way down. Even the smaller waves had lots of power in them.

The current early on spooked me, so I sat out and watched the water a while to find a better spot. There were many spectacular wipeouts to watch but These guys out there can surf! I wonder if FLSURFDOGG was out there.

 

Wonder why Florida got the goods and here in s.c we didn't get anything...

Old joke that's not even relevant anymore get with 2016... I'm guessing your a tad jealous that you can't smack the lip on that 40lb 6 in thick sup u cruise around on...

 

Actually a great joke, HOF material, because you still don't know how to swim. What are you talking about smacking the lip, when you don't even venture past the inner tubers? Oh, and one other thang: those SUP guys will be the ones who save your lame arse when you get swept out by a rip & start to drown.

 

I'm glad you know what I can and can't do now I'm guessing you were with me all winter? Don't need anyone to save me now can save myself....

I totally redeemed myself today... Sunrise brought gorgeous waist high waves, some thigh high sets, some shoulder high at two of the peaks, pretty long interval, so glassy, offshore 5 mph, smaller than yesterday without the weird current that sketched me out.

I scored these four super fun rides. A guy on the beach snapped a pic of one and son of a gun, the wave was jacked up over my head (well, I am only 5'4 so maybe for you its shoulder high) and on my feet turning left. Good thing I didn't know how big the wave was or I might've gotten anxious. It had a lot of power in it! So excited! Totally redeemed from yesterday's sesh.
