Wind finally decided to cooperate... Shoulder to head high and fun at my two favorite spots last couple days, not perfect conditions, light onshore last evening and very light this morning, somewhat clean but still funky and breaking way outside on a full high tide. It was tricky getting into the sweet spot but when the sets rolled through it was party time. I Rode the HPLB last evening and was hauling ass, so fun. This morning was on the 6'4" Coil FBF, and it did it's thing too. I love that feeling where it feels like the drop just keeps going and going and just when you think it's time to crank your turn it keeps dropping some more, then it's time to load up and crank the turn! Yew!
Got me some last evening as well. Spring tide slowed things down a bit by sundown on the outside, but the inside was cranking some serious barrels. Pulled into a solid chest-high shorebreak peak and actually made it out. Felt like I was back in Delaware haha.
Niiiiice! Yeah I caught it on a serious high tide but it was breaking waaaaaay outside and could take it all the way in if you played your cards right, which I did on several occasions and paid for it on the paddle back out, worth it though (referring more to last evening than this morning, paddle today was cake)
Ah Barry Fumunda Cudda I'm pretty sure you fantasize aboot sexual conflicts with me Hey you know surfing the internet ain't the same as surfing the ocean But what else shouldone expect from Swell Info's #1 Moron Barry gets so deep in the pit on this here surf predictin' website he loses touch with reality
No booties here! water in the mid 60s. Both days I surfed this week I got cut off by shoulder hoping LBrs. First dude did kinda sorta apologize by sayin' "I didn't think you could make it" BS. Second tard dropped in and never looked back. I got a feelin' this summer is gonna be full of farkery. Chas. is full don't come!
Trunked it today for a 40min sesh. Water was 59-61. It was sunny and light to moderate wind. Felt refreshed. The end.
Damn fun this morning on a high tide, caught some sick rides on the HPLB, i'd say it was about waist to chest with some shoulder - head high sets. Took me about 10 waves to really get it dialed in, was doing dumb sh*t on take offs and during the drop / bottom turns trying to be too aggressive. I was getting ahead of myself trying to set my rail early and it would bite and throw me off and I would either eat sh*t or have a wobbly bottom turn and screw the rest of the wave up. There was a few mixed in there that were decent, but once I got it dialed in was more patient on the take off / drop and paid attention to foot placement and I was finding the right line... that's when things got fun. Some I was going so fast that it created so much lift under my board that it felt like I was hovering over the wave like Laird on that Foil Board, just felt awesome.
definitely a good run of waves.....starting last weekend....still hanging in at waist high and clean this afternoon in Delaware with SW winds. last three sessions this week were in a 3/2 with a light neoprene top under. Water temps are into the mid 50s nearshore.
Yea... been really consistent for about a week. Mostly "ridable," but with decent size. A few hours here and there where it got really good, but you had to be on it to get those windows. Past couple days have been small junk, so the run is over here. Water's just cracking 50 here... finally 4/3 season.
What's happening? I got some waves on Saturday that were zipping along a sandbar at low tide. Didn't need the hood at all and was in a light pair of gloves. Spent the rest of the afternoon skating down a hill with my 6 year old. Anyone else been surfing?
Wasn't big. Not ankle biters that you could hardly stand on and when you do your just standing there waiting for it to fizzle out. Just enough to have some fun on an long board. You could get a turn in, get to nose and back to the tail, turn into the foam and set up an inside how do you do. If you crouched in the pocket and dragged a hand it was head high. The very low tide helped.
Last night in Delaware....glassed off around 5:00. 3 foot+ short period rampy peaks. Wasn't expecting to surf this weekend, ended up scoring sunset nuggets.
I was up at 5 saturday morning, called it off due to buoy/cam/chance to bang out house schit...but it was worth getting up otherwise I wouldn't have seen that fisher.
Yeah I got up but opted to wait for the tide to drop. If it was like where I surfed it would have been a bummer on a body board. Took a drive checking spots and saw some great wildlife. Ospreys on the nest, deer, fox and the cool colorful birds, like your fisher, are returning. And we have a lot more gannets flying around than usual. Enjoy our wild America.
