Just got out. knee - waist and clean. 3/2 no booties no gloves toasty. I don't care what the buoys are reading, that water was in the upper 50s.
I was out in the Dominical area of CR a week and a half ago. Water and air temp in mid 80's...felt so nice. Eying up this weekends swell, but the thought of suiting up isnt sitting so well.
Update: Turned out better than forecasted or reported. Waist high and only a little choppy. Nice way to spend lunch.
Got pretty lucky this morning. Decided to set the alarms last minute before i went to bed and ended up going to check it around 5:20. Got in around 5:45 and by the time i got out it was turning to mostly shorebreak. Clean and waist-chest high though. I can only imagine how good it'll be once the water drains out a little there. Checked the other spots on my way to school and it looked like the belmar (of course) was the only spot with almost the same size. Best way to start the day!
This was two days ago. Decent chest-hi+. Best day of the week, but not that great. Fun, though. Didn't surf yesterday; too small. Today is looking good, though. More size, good wind, and lots of time to have fun.
Oh yeah, I must have seen 50 guys in black hats driving golf carts at Dover last Sunday. I yelled hey Zero at a couple guys who I thought looked relatively healthy but got only blank, agitated stares. The big wreck happened right in front of us.
Got my first session in down here in KDH as a resident on Wednesday. It was waist- stomach high and really sloppy but got a couple fun little wedges. PT twice a day and first responder/ ocean rescue train from 7-6 everyday has really been taking up my time. Looks fun tomorrow afternoon here though. Stoked I'll be able to get some in after training is done for the day.
Done. Two DP (Fri/Sat) seshies @CCNS. Clean & Green waist high walls to work on. Light offshores, sunny & pleasant --simply a gorgeous morning to thoroughly enjoy the creation. Sorry no pix ... except on the canvas of my mind. Peace.
Ran into Valhalla at the ocean this morning, maybe he is still there. I love all the time watching him surf.... he has so much practice surfing small waves in south Florida, that he has become an expert on it! He can make those waves sing! It was warm, small and choppy, not as great as yesterday, but it's always fun and today was no exception. It was fun to show Valhalla my new board, and he got a good picture of the deck and the bottom. Maybe he will upload it when he recovers from his long ride home
