2 days of thigh to waist high waves a little on the weak side but still a few fun waves. Me and one LB out this morning having a blast.
Good job Valhalla and I am glad you spotted the photo. MSW shows 1.6' to 2' next Saturday so far, so that might be rideable. That high pressure ridge just won't budge and is making Florida just so hot . Dang! See ya!
Paddled out in front of the crib after work. Thought it to only be 2-3' and light on shores. As soon as I paddle out, Wind died and the swell was thumping to my surprise, 4-6 on the sets. Perfect tide. . Caught about 50 waves I'm beat.
Lol something similar happened at the same spot a few weeks ago, just me & the wife on the rocks. 4 teens paddled out towards the knuckle from rough bar (!!) and 1 of them got sucked out fast towards Ocean Shores, I mean just GONE. Of course he didn't have a clue and was totally failing trying to stroke against that fkn rip and his gf was shrieking on the rocks and one of his buddies paddled out in the rip to save him. He finally caught clue and paddled towards 2nd groin and the rip let him go. I honestly thought I was gonna have to don the rubber to paddle out and save these geeks. And I don't think they even burn tree so basically there was no reward lol.
all it takes is one kook to drown and before we know it everyone wants to check out how "core" the spot is man.
Been flat here, man. Just nuttin' Maybe a rogue ankle slapper. Haven't been out since last Thurs. Been doing a lot of running, push-ups & pull-ups in the morning while it's cooler to stay in some kind of shape. Heading out now.
Had a cool refreshing long board dip with no one else in sight tonight. Thank you pokemon, good job, keep up the good work. No one surfs anymore
Been sponging 3-5 days every week. Southern swell train keeps on chugging along. Last 2 weeks have been smaller, more like chest-to-head. Looks to pick back up next week.
Fun 3 hour Friday afternoon sesh on the Delmarva. Swell beat the forecast by a bit, and was actually kind of rippable on the mini simmons. when the waves came, they came bringing lefts. Even better, despite the 95 degree heat, the winds stayed offshore to light and varsble. For most of the session, glassy conditions. Water was a bit brisk....maybe 68-70, which felt great during this heat wave were in. Fried to a crisp again.
Managed to snag 1.5 hours on the 8' at Se*cond Beach on the dawn patrol, but it really wasn't all that good. It was probably waist high, but just not that lined up and crowded as crowd. Drove home, picked up the family for the day at the beach, and returned to S*cond Beach. The tide started coming back up and it was actually better. My son took out the fish, so I rode the BZ spongey thing with two of the fins missing. After about 2 hours the last fin broke off, so I was finless. That was pretty damn hard, with no fins, and I broke my new watche! So I came in, grabbed the fins and hand plane, and then body surfed another 1.5 hours. Altogether almost 5 hours in the water. Air was warm, water was warm, and every one in RI and MA was in the water.
Another fun Saturday! The waves were a little better than the prediction. Mostly shin to knee, some thigh highs coming through, short interval wind chop, good enough to stay.a little squall came through to cool everyone down and break the u seasonable drought. Got a few fun rides to put a smile on my face. Valhalla and his wife showed up super early with their repaired boards and it's fun to watch his wife learning to surf. She is already reading the water better and catching some fun rides. looks like a bump midweek for DawnPatrolSUP .
Today started out slow but it picked up as the tide dropped out. Got plenty of knee / thigh rides with a few near waist sets thrown in. Pretty clean overall. I see that little bump on the way Betty, I'll take what I can get!
Felt like Florida today... air was hot and humid... water was hot and murky green. Not even refreshing. But there was a fun little wave on the low-to-incoming, and log was slidin' 'em just fine. Good to see a few of the locals out enjoying the weekend.
Before work and at noontime yesterday. Barely longboard-able. Mid day temps in high 90s. Been a scorcher much of the past week. Water temps around 80. Lots of menhaden and dolphins.
