I checked several reports for VB and OCMD and compared them, and VB's definitely didn't look like anything special for this week. So we had already settled on OCMD, but due to the crapped out truck (which still isn't fixed because I surfed for 8-8.5 hours today!!!!), we stayed local. Thanks though! I'll probably opt for a carribean (or Oahu) trip this Spring or Summer, instead of a short distance East Coast trip. 45-47 degrees is pretty nice for this time of year. That's usually what the water is in Jersey in early-mid April some years. It's actually 40 or so today.

I did get out 8-8.5 hours today in Monmouth at a couple places. 8.5-ish hours combined surfing time. Even had a friend from up in North Jersey make a drive down and surf with us for a couple hours on his longbort. He had the day off. Had another dude I know, surfing with us this morning. He sucks and always has, so it was fun to show him up haha! Wind kind of ****ed everything up late in the afternoon, just before sunset. Might take a trip to LBI or OCNJ for the day tomorrow. It's looking better there than in Monmouth, I'll have to check it out in the morning. Today was a nice day though, air temps must have been 65 at one point.

I'm pretty sore, I think this was the longest day of surfing for me in a couple months. South Jersey isn't supposed to get as much snow as Central, as far as I know right now. So hoping for that tomorrow.

You gotta love when people tip you off as you're parking ''Nothing doing today bruh!'' haha. I've gotten that quite a few times, then it wound up really firing and ended up being a great day. The best is when I've had that happen somewhere that you can actually see the beach from where you're parking. I've had that happen on Ocean Ave in Belmar or Spring Lake, where there's nothing beachfront except for a non commercial boardwalk (with no homes) in between the beach and road and you can see everything just driving up the main drag there. Sometimes I think they're really trolling me, but maybe that guy meant well and was really deceived.

Glad you scored though! And in warm water/air! Although I shouldn't complain about air, this was possibly the warmest day here in the last 3 months.

Thigh high and glassy today off Dam Neck (VB). Quite a few dolphin like yesterday. I found my 5/4 a bit warm for the 46 degree water and 63 degree air. A nice lunch hour, then had to race back to work. Acting like a 61 year old kid.

Had the pleasure of surfing this past Sunday morning near Melbourne, FLA. First time for this guy surfing in FLA. More importantly, got to meet DPSUP & his lovely wife. DP was kind enough to share his home break with us. He & his wife are, no surprise, really nice normal unselfish vry cool peeps. We really enjoyed talking with them.

DP is a good surfer. He has the stoke in spades. A real pleasure to see him dropping in on a few well-OH items & tearing down the line on his shortboart.

Man, was I creaking. Hadn't surfed in a few months (work suxx) in fact since early December in MEX. Thus I surfed even worse than I normally surf, normal being badly. Still a raft of fun in the sun. Uncrowded, warm water, good fun waves in trunks.

Drove up the coast a few hours, Sunday afternoon the gf & I surfed Mayport Poles before heading to JAX for flight north. Much weaker waves, wetsuite necessary. Still fun & no crowds.

Good trip! Keerist, I need to get in the water more.

Many thanks, DP: class act all the way, amigo.

Two sessions yesterday. Dead calm wind, intense sun, 70 degree air temps = HOT conditions in a full suit. Hood had to come down. My buddy shot this one of me trying to pop a little wheelie on a 2 foot wave.

^^^ haha nice pic Mitch. All rights...on that swell.

I went out in the blizzard mess today. Work was cancelled so i said screw it. Got to take my pier pony, I call her the "steed", on a few runs and damn that thing is fun! Can't wait to get it out on on a clean waist+ swell.

Waves when I went today were around knee to thigh high. Would've been bigger had the offshore winds and snow not been blowing at 25-30mph. I feel like everything was just getting pushed back a notch. Glad i went out anyways. Hopefully we get another round of goods soon.

Snuck in a session between the rains today. Was itty-bitty, maybe waist-chest at best. Had to paddle around the rocks because the sand is gone. Found a right-hand corner that was working and had it all to my lonesome in the fog.

Pretty good moderate side/offshores. Foggy. Cool. Good shape, but short rights. Better than nothing.

I got a good 5 hours combined in today. Buddy and I drove down to OCNJ in the snow, it wasn't really snowing the further south I got though. Got a few inches at home and had to shovel the driveway a bit this morning. Have to finish it up in a few more minutes actually. It could have been better, wind might have been gusting to 50 MPH at one point. All I got as thigh-ish high too, a couple of waist high and that was it. Better than nothing! Being out today felt really incredibly cold compared to yesterday. I'm pretty sore from the past two days, due to lack of surf conditioning. Conditioning is not where it needs to be.

Hoping to get out tomorrow morning.

I was looking down that way. In hindsight it was probably better than where I was, but didn't want to drive all that way to get skunked. Hopefully there's another fun pulse soon. You guys way up north are getting the goods next week. Lucky dogs.

Not for me! I have to work every day and the one day a week that I get off is usually spent making up for the ridiculous sleep deficit I rack up. That's why the amount of hours surfing that I've logged over the last 5 or 6 years in the winter months has been pathetic. In a couple months from now, I'll mostly be off for 4 or 5 months. An April/May early hurricane swell would be pretty sweet though!

It was shoulder to head high semi clean, coming down by mid morning, dead calm, sunny day in Florida. I stayed on the inside reformed waves, having a front seat for some outstanding surfing, tomorrow will be smaller and I can't wait to get out there to the lineup for some Sunday fun. It was super fun watching some of the old locals get very stoked up and run to the beach like kids

Yeah Betty it was a great morning. I got out at sunrise for high tide and rode the LB. It was a bit deep but the sets were big and juicy. I grabbed a handful of set waves before having to take off and visit my Dad. I brought the fish too but I enjoyed riding the LB instead for a change.

fun day for sure. Winds stayed offshore for most of the day til mid-afternoon in the south-north Florida region. It's actually getting to wetsuit temp finally up there, and what's funny is spring is probably only 2-3 weeks away. Still waiting on our epic winter swell day of the year...

My luck has been absolutely crappie, as of late, I had all intensions of getting out early, but wouldn't you know it, work called they had a problem and called me in.....so I got out this evening somewhat fun but the wind was on it so semi chop is the call, chest high sets and not a lot of people which is a good thing caught a few good ones...better then nothing

    Got a good day today.

Think i jinxed myself with my last post on how good its been because literally the day after it shut down for over a week. I got time to plan for my peru trip, but 6 days out of the water due to 90 mile an hour gales and inches of rain per day was hard.

Today it was a little over head high, kinda mushy with the tide and reeling down the beach. When the tide started dropping it started dredging over the rock reef.

Interesting social dynamics in the water. I totally burned myself. Some dude was enjoying a peak solo and i totally hopped on it, showing due respect and waiting my turn but still. he went in, and i knew my local karma was screwed. Sure enough 3 or 4 people rolled up (too crowded for my taste).

A local shredder showed up and started sitting behind me so I moved down the beach. Peak down there got better (its a reef) so he followed me after a few waves. In my head I was kinda like what the hell because it seemed like I was a magnet for people at that point.

Sure enough, I got a bomb, and upon paddling back out said local shredder (he really was pretty talented) nailed me on the duck dive. It wasn't a direct hit but our leashes got tangled and ****.

He seemed kinda irritated at first (even tho in my playbook it was his bad, I was paddling back out and I was heading towards the peak not into his line) but the first thing out of my mouth after the initial thud was "are you all good man?" NOT " watch where the f u c k your going"

I think that went a long way cause the rest of the sesh was good vibes even after 2 of my friends and 1 of his paddled out.

Sharing is caring, but man karma pays you back quick, especially in an element as dynamic as water.
