Very fun morning, mostly waist high but lots of fun. A little cool with the rain and slight wind, but already out of the suite. Only down side is that inner thigh rash the first few times out after the suite. Goes flat for the rest of the week so glad to get some
Great morning, absolutely gorgeous weather, partly cloudy in the 60s. Chest/head high swell rolling in at low tide with a solid offshore wind. Beautiful lines all down the beach. Broke out the shortboard after a two month hiatus from it, spent about an hour kooking around in the water before I got dialed back in (I had forgotten what it was like to actually have to paddle). Had some great rides and left with a sunburn to remember it by. Felt like spring has already come.
Best things about surfing the panhandle: warm water, women in bikinis, nice people. Worst things about surfing the panhandle: waves.
Getting ready for my first DP session in like a zillion years! Well, it's been a while. Not a zillion years, quite a while though!
He must not be a surfer, I'm gonna guess he's more into fishing... Love your board, how long is it? But when it's good, it's REALLY good.
I went out for a 2 hour ish session with my good friend, the waves were much much smaller than expected, but occasionally a little knee high peeler would roll in and we would just mess around, party wave, and try to pull in to a little barrel while laying down on our boards. I was surfing a 7,2 torq and my friend was on a 6.10. The other two people were surfing what seemed to be some 10 ft longboards. After the sesh we ordered some pizza and watched some surf movies.
crazy...another warm day with fun waves in the winter that never happened on Delmarva. kind of a sneaky long period swell today, and the wind was good until mid afternoon, then blew up as you would expect when the land is 30 degrees warmer than the ocean.
Once again, your conditions trumped ours. We had another foot in size...maybe... but nothing as close in terms of how clean you got it. In the morning the tide was too high... in the afternoon a light side/onshore breeze bumped it up a bit. Still fun surf, though. Bonus for us, though... complete solo session with not another surfer in sight. Crystal clear water, too... best viz of the winter, for sure. Too bad no fish.
I was watching a few of the cams at work. Looked super fun at some spots. Glad to hear a couple of you guys got on it. Warm weather, waves and not many kooks out. That's hard to come by. I do believe we are in store for more soon.
Lol! I was thinking the same thing yesterday toward the end of my session! Actually... I was thinking even the weekday solo sessions' days are numbered at this point, too.
Also got a solo session yesterday afternoon, which is always nice. Pretty chopped up by the wind though, and short rides with the high tide, but I'm desperate for anything at this point and got a few fun ones on the longboard. Beautiful weather, wasn't cold in the slightest which was nice. Hoping to get out at lunch today if the swell holds and it's not too bumped up. I'm nervous about sunday... I understand why it's happening because we haven't had good waves in like a month at this point, but I don't like to see so many people talking about a forecast like it's a sure thing. I feel like everyone I know on the internets and in real life are talking up this 3 ft and clean forecast like it's gonna be all time. Seems like a perfect setup to get totally skunked. But we shall see. Sooner or later we'll get a decent swell again, and odds are I'll be on it, whether it's sunday or not it's all goode...
boulders. shouldere hi. paddled in on 3rd. saddled up by 2nd. took a rightie, did a silent prayer and dropped to one knee, rode the west thru which seemed to cut itself off. tried to paddle back out, but already up on the pier. done haha. i think low tide was best. same kinda session yesterday evening, jus tuff paddle out. took the 6'9" Surf RX Bullet yesterday which wasn't thick enuff to handle the angle i wanted. this dp session took Ms Clementine, a 6'4" Perfection - lil wider- but like said short-lived. i'm thinking it's gonna clear up and draw some lines later in the day or tomorrow morning (that's what my prayer was for at least)
within two hours of those pictures, a 15 mph sideshore breeze was up. little springtime tide/wind windows.
fun 45 min lunchbreak session on the longboard. thigh to maybe waist high, a little choppy and crumbly, looked like there was potential for some longer rides but nothing I caught really lined up the way I hoped, but between the weather and the lack of other people and the double digit wave count and feeling like I was getting away with something by not being in the office (even though I was in early this morning and cleared it with my boss in advance), the post session stoke factor is pretty high.
Since I'm bed ridden with the flu I give you permission to surf my break Sunday. Get there around 10 10:30 AM. Even if other guys are out its easy to paddle down a block and get a peak all to yourself
