Back in the dirty Joizy after a sick time in CO. Caught some waist to chest and very occasional head sets in the city of 23 footers the other day. It was pretty fun for my first day back. Only a few guys out and snow coming down everywhere. The views were pretty sweet. Looks like this may be a fun week ahead. Yewbies.

Whoaaaa Cowboy!!! Make sure the bronchitis is gone gone, not just mostly gone.
Same happened to me a few years ago, and I went out (winter), and sure as obama sucks deeks, I ended up with pneumonia. And that sucked!!

Nice leisure day at the beach today. My wife joined me and hung out for 3-4hrs while I surfed both my LB and SB. It was a solid waist - chest with the occasional shoulder+ set. It wasn't perfect conditions with a light onshore breeze, but it was still somewhat clean with a little bump on the surface.

There was a handful of people in the water but I had a peak to myself. The waves were crumbly but had some force to them. Fast and longer rides on the LB but I had more fun on the M-80 when the tide bottomed out and it got more steep. There was a window where I actually had to work to get back outside but overall it was easy peasy.

O Barry, thanks for the concern. I've been really careful not to overdue it. I should be good to go by We'd

CO is sweet. I didn't get out on Friday but sounds like it wet your appetite. You should have been here Wednesday. Quality wise it doesn't get much better than Wednesday in NJ. More waves this week, psyched.

Had to attend to family matters this morning, and the forecast was for it to clean up this afternoon as the wind was supposed to go from southeast to south to southwest as a front goes thru. but it stalled and fell apart and the winds went every where. Nice underlying north swell so as the tide dropped there were sectiony head high liners coming in from the north with a south wind holding the lefts open and making the rights go fast, but ripping the whole thing up.

I asked the guard why there was no one out,it looked pretty good but a bit ragged and he said the wind was on it that's why, so that was cool , he didn't mention schools of bait and sharks so as it started to rain I paddled out by my self. It took me 20 minutes to get outside, then 10 minutes more to get to the peak. Another 20 minutes of trying to get into a wave but getting blown back up the peak like a grouper getting blown in from the depths during a storm, but in reverse.

Finally got a nice set wave on the corner, went left on the takeoff, against the wind, but when I got to the bottom of the overhead peak I banked right with the wind and got speed and made the section and it opened up and I stalled and got a few smooth off the lips back to the bottom getting speed, then it closed out and I made a floater - head high, and stuck it at the bottom and continued to the reform and made it all the way to the beach, made it in over the rocks without a scratch on the board or my feet, and called it a day. I watched as one guy paddled out, and another guy was way up the beach, he got three waves, all closeouts on the drop, the other guy got nada, I got a couple drinks and some of the best conch chowder in the world. Life is goode.

Friday afternoon was an AWESOME surprise session. Thought it was going to be flat and/or choppy all day and didn't think I would have time to get out (had plans to meet a friend from out of town who I hadn't seen in months for happy hour right after work). Boss ended up telling us all to leave work a little early due to the snow (literally seconds after that the snow stopped and the sun came out), checked the cam before shutting down my computer, saw fun looking waves, raced to the beach, and had a fantastic session, waist to chest high and glassy lefts peeling perfectly. No one else out, switched between snowing and blue skies a few times during the 45 minutes. Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday last week were all absolutely fantastic. Had more great rides in those three days than all winter prior to that, and it's not even close. Still so stoked. And excited to see what's on tap with this storm coming in tomorrow.

Looks to be big and gnarly. Might not clean up in time for a session before dark, but there's hope.

Three days in a row of surfing. The first day couldn't really be called surfing. It was blown out and crazy, but always fun to get wet.

Today was proof if Go Before You know. The SI forecast was red with some mid teen winds. But, From sunrise to mid morning though, it was dead calm. The waves were gorgeous glassy waist to overheads with some powerful force in them. As predicted, the water was warm as was the air.

Somehow I found a way out to the lineup without too much trouble. I would like to say I got this incredible ride. But that would be a lie. I spotted a nice shoulder high roller and paddled for it, caught it, but hesitated on popping up, I still hung onto the wave, but it short circuited the ride somehow and dumped me into the water.

I figure those mistakes are good reminders on the importance of commitment. All in all, it was still very fun and wonderful to be out there on a Monday. And there was some truly amazing surfing going on, which is always fun to watch.

Am guessing DPSUP had some nice waves up his way too.

It was pretty damm fun yesterday evening. Head high crumbly sets, tho some shortys were able to take on it needed a bit of a rocker. i took out the 7'2" Hog Molly and buddy took out his 5'10" Lost, then he switched to a 7'6" funboard. Drifty conditions, no clear lines. Breaking each wich way, but power and size was amazing. Had a few good ones, the best going right and pumping my way onto various sets. Tough paddle out, cold, rainy - all outdone by the shear size of the waves and longer daylight - great session
