I didn't get out... stuck in meetings all day. But man... it looked fun. Great south angle and offshore... just bending in perfectly.... depressingly perfectly...
Surfed from 440 till almost dark last night in Monmouth, with a couple quick breaks to change wetsuits -- don't have a 4/3 and my sh1tty 3/2 worked okay for about an hour but clearly wasn't gonna work for an extended session -- and boards. Started out fun but a bit tricky with the hard offshore wind, but somewhere around 6-630 the wind died down to almost nothing and it got fvcking perfect... waist to chest high and just peeling all the way to the beach. Still stoked this morning.
Not arguing this one with you. My backside game is weak. Still had a TON of fun ones yesterday though. And I got a suite shot to remember it all
Yesterday's conditions were made for my Puddle Jumper. Thing lit up in those conditions. Fun Fun....Great angle...Looooong Rides See alot of guys out w/out hoods or gloves. Fooking warriors. I guess i'm a pu$$y but 48 degree water still warrants a hood and gloves IMO.
^^^ My dog ate my 4/3 (no... seriously. She did.) so I'm in a 3/2 as well. Still boots and gloves, though.
Departed 0415, rolled into TPTSNBN @ 7am including delay due to bogus speeding ticket from Maryland's storm, er, state troopers. Fun conditions at TPTSNBN. NB better than State. Peeling rights along with the plethora of usual closeouts. Steady, gusty offshore WNW winds. No sideshore, hallelujah. First wax to new Ruddy: very impressed with the work of Chris. Fast paddler, no sense of inertia as with Augie WIR, turns well stepping on tail & can trvl way up front if wave permits. Although, I felt really rusty: pop-up again resembling opening of ironing boart. Wasted several fine waves with death upon departures, but it was so good to get back out there. 4/3, boots, gloves, I'm years past giving a shiiiite about what anyone thinks of that. I hate being any shade of cold. 4-6 locals out, all good surfers with positive stoke / vibes.
1)drop in grab rail and keep your shoulders and hips facing out of the tube (down the line), NOT towards the beach. 2) keep your fat fkn face smooched up to the face of the wave so you dont drift to the flats and get smacked by the lip 3) practice this 1000x, living in MOCO as a goofyfooter, this will be easy 4) get properre tubed by thanksgiving All your cheerleaders are so cute! you got that participation trophy after all boy you better get tubed, you dont want to end up like that guy form Ocean City who posts pictures and is a 50 something year old barrel virgin
you are a dope...who gives a rats ass how good someone is...you are in wrong sport dope, if u think its about how good u shred.
surfed today...first day in over 4 weeks where back pain is about gone...only surfed for an hour, and feeling better. Surf was fun.
state was pretty good...long rights, and right out front. cant imagine nb being that much better, thats how good state was...tho this was around 9. shoot me a pm next time your down.
guess you dont know Kanman's history with me, we go way back, maybe you should mind your business and surfing isnt a sport, its an athletic endeavor; sports have objective scores
not saying I shred, but certainly dont square my shoulders at the beach, ask Trevie if I can surf. if I had that picture of me surfing, I would delete it or burn it here shoulders FACE FORWARD and its not about being salty, but calling out kookery, straight up, you talk a big game and then I see that and its pretty obvious you cant surf for beans but hey, have a funny quip, give yourself a participation trophy and move on, who needs actual surfing ability when you can just talk a big game big game
In the FWIW category... “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely games.” - - Ernest Hemingway
I dont give a crap about your history...and second, you want people to mind thier own business then I would suggest not posting in an open forum.
Wednesday was one of the best days surf days of the year so far in Monmouth County, at least for me it was. Mind you, I have been unable to surf for the better part of it so far, due to heavy work schedule and travelling. It was shoulder high at times and pretty nice. Only complaint was that it should have been warmer out, water temperature was decent though. Air temp was lacking for this time of year. I actually heard that Tuesday was an even better day. Looks like a few crappy days of no surf and some cooler temps and rain on tap for the next couple of days. I cut the grass today (in a hoody! Gross!) and did some cleaning around the house. Sunday is looking good as of right now.
