Got a few at my local solo after work today. Rode the new LB in some soft, thigh to waist high soft rollers. Tide got kinda fat and killed it, but at least I got to try the new stick. Definitely feeling the difference from my old log... lighter, thinner rails, more tail rocker... all make it more responsive. No legit noserides today, but walked around on it a bit and got a sense that it will be great in waves with a little more vertical face. Anybody got a 9" or 9.5" pivot fin they want to sell?
Nice LB. Down my way there was some chest high rollers. Fat tide and hard to line up but no wind. Heading back down soon ti try and get a second sesh in.
I still have the BLEFF 9" gullshaped Roy Stuart. It's broken - the tab broke off, but I have both pieces. I can send it to you if you PM me your mailing address. It was cool, has some lift, and is a pivot fin (I think). I've been wanting to pass it on. Swellie discount. Free. Same as I paid Roy.
Must you with that? Please i'm begging you. That thing should be broken up into dust with a sledgehammer.
I got a few hours in tonight. Just me and 3 friends. There were maybe 2 other people out. Was a little choppy at times, but I can't complain too much. A few chest high sets.
Hey LB crew- I had this fin in one of my boards, it was in a thinner and lighter board, 9'6 RC Justin quintal (sp?) pig shape...the fin really ended up making the board, pivot but still had some drive and held well on the nose. Highly recommend. You might find it cheaper somewhere else on the web https://www.thesurfboardwarehouse.co...-925-1025.aspx If you'd like to try one before you buy it, you can borrow mine for a week or two, the next time your down in my area.. I don't want to sell mine but at least you could try it out before buying one
Memorial Day weekend coming up. The lifeguard stands have been brought out. I'm so looking forward to the start of surfing season!
Fun sesh on my mini sim yesterday in 23'. Stoked to see a little more size than I was expecting. Something between waist and chest high. It was fat and the sim ate it right up. Fudged a few waves I shouldn't have, but overall had a lot of fun for the 2 hours I was out. Backside game is getting so much stronger in the last month or so and it has significantly improved my quality of sessions, opening up my desire to take waves I usually wouldn't want to. Summer surfers are coming out in full force. Already seeing lots of peeps I never have before. Doesn't really bother me because they can't catch waves anyways. Stoking for Friday. Should be fun.
There's always one or two guys around the middle or end of May, who try and get in the water in trunks and they usually take their borts and hightail it outta there after 2 minutes. Shivering and shaking like they're going into shock. I remember others have talked about it here too. I haven't come across it this year, but I'm sure I'll witness it this weekend. That's when you know that summer is upon us.
