Tell me about it. When I go down to Manasquan Inlet on flat summer days just to hang out at the beach or walk the jetty, there's usually anywhere from 10-20 guys on boards between 10:00 AM and 4:00 or 5:00 PM,when it's completely flat. Especially by late June when the water is warm enough to trunk. And when it's not flat, there's still at least 10 or 20 people out there just floating around on the board and doing absolutely nothing on it.
Town was goode yesterday super low tide in the morning, surfed 545 till 8 45, coffee > breakfast sandwich > deuces>resurfulate for another 2.5 hours on the incoming tide, wind made some choppe, that sent people in, last 45 min of my session was me and my buddy taking 100+ yard rides one after another, paddle out, snag a wave, paddle out snag a wave, no waiting, just into the next wave.... way more waves than surfers, it was amazing and fun then 5 guys came out and we went in, had our fill goode times
Going into the wknd, thought that conditions were hyped by Surfline, in particular (imagine that happening). Anyways, Thursday evening was blown out. Friday morning had good S energy in the water. Dang, that offshore was 20-25 knots or so. Had to be on the peaks & pushing hard. Caught a bunch but missed too many. The bars seem really built-up & close-in at TPTSNBN & North B. Should have paddled out Friday late afternoon, bit calmer then. But, got caught up watching that DeNiro as Bernie Madoff thing on HBO. Sat morning it was pancake flat. And time for the long drive back to the concrete.
So you watched a pussified liberal play a wimpy thief?? And you gave up waves for that??? hmmmm.......you need a cool change in your life. A move to Bali, Tahiti, New Zealand, anywhere but DC....
If I ever find myself in need of a slap in the face, Barry, you are the solution. Yes, I watched the once-great-actor-who-is-now-a-hillary-simp play a sociopathic asshat. Shoot me later for my sins. Along with The Department of Barry Tough Luv, I'll also pay attention when you demand that i go surf in any of those places that you mentioned
Or the best one of all They stay out there and and just continue laying on the board, taking up space that someone who is actually surfing can use.
Memorial Day afternoon with wife, sons, and a few beers. Threw the old, beat up 8-4 soft top on the roof as an afterthought, as there wasn't "supposed" to be much, if any, surf. Went to a less crowded stretch of beach at Dam Neck near the RV campground. As the tide went out, the surf was certainly ride-able...thigh high, but we had a good time. Even took wifey out for a bit. Water temps had increased about 5 degrees since I was out Friday. Fun afternoon on a beautiful day.
Paddled out around 7:30 yesterday morning. Only one out, knee to waist and breaking outside. Shark showed up around 8am and jump out of the water about 50' from me.... 8:00.05 was on the beach. I'm guessing he was catching his breakfast and I didn't want to be dessert. Went back out after breakfast and played "white-cap" or "shark" the rest of the morning.
Got out enough to scratch the itch... Had the only boart catching waves so shared the stoke with my son and another friend. One guy on a soft top in a wet suite... water temp was 78...
Me either Z. I went up to PA to avoid the madness. Now, I have tomorrow and Thursday to get wet. Looks like we have some small fun stuff for the next two days.
Just got back from a two hour session of semi glassy waist high rollers. Thing is, recently, I have been using my shorter boards. But I decided to use the longboard and holy sh1t, was it heavy to maneuver!! Time to commence eating my wheaties again!!!! Had fun anyway. While most of you morons worked hahahahaha!!! keep working--your taxes give me my spending money (social security)!!!! And thanks for doing so....Make America Great Again!!!!!! God Bless America!!
