Wow this is great- this is pretty much the only thread I read on here anymore... The rest are a bunch of 6th graders insulting each other... ANYWAYS totally got out tonight after work. Didn't even think there would be waves... Drove by the beach on the way home and it's chest hi and PEELING!! And clean! Run home and suite up... Got some really really nice rides! Gotta love them there south swells... I really miss them and now really looking forward to more! Stoked! Ok - that's all for now- hope some of your guys got out there... Good night swellinfo.com - I'm going to go read the drudge report now...
Man... No booties seems like a long lost dream... At first I got home and put on then 4/3, thinking the water would have warmed up... Checked swellinfo - water is still at 39 degrees! Had to change back into the 6/5/4... Oh and 7 mil booties... Don't forget the gloves... Ha! Tired of the excess rubber, but hey if it keeps the crowds away, I will deal with it! If it was just a 4/3 I would be stoked- love the 4/3
clean lefts on the Delmarva today. cold straight offshore wind. it seemed more like a Late January sesh than late march. Quick pic before paddling out this afternoon.
^^nice. We rarely get waves that perfect where I surf...it's usually sectiony or crumbly, but bigger.
After 5 weeks out of the water got a couple of hours in Saturday. "shoulda been here yesterday..." heard that a lot! took me about an hour to get dialed in... caught a few. Arms sore, chest boned, lower back screaming, good times!!! can't wait to peel of some rubber...
Hey Zero...I was wondering if you were one of the 6 or 7 guys out at the Lighthouse on Saturday afternoon when the wind switched? Good fun and un crowded. Not much on the Horizon but sounds like many caught some waves this past week.
Hi guys, My name is KillaKiel. I surfed a lot last week and am hoping to score in PR later this week. Last full week of March was pretty fun and I caught a lot of it with either no one or very few people out. The main events I would say were the 75 degree day with the SOUTH winds and swell and Saturday. Everything else was knee to waist, and just me. Saturday was awesome even though it was snowing most of the time here in VB (apparently it didn't snow anywhere else in town???). Non-stop waves. I didn't take anything less than chest. I know it was solid in the OBX, but Saturday was a nice surprise after work. Got it from 1-5:30. I blew off drinking for a while...would ya look at that?
Delmarva today felt like spring...s wind swell, SW winds, warm air temps, my face is sunburnt after two hours. peeling 2 footers on the mini simmons. Gliding trimmed out, cutback, hope the wave has enough push to get you going again after the cutback. Some did most didn't.
Good to hear that swell was producing down there Mitch Paddled out at a spot I haven't surfed in a year or more and scored some fun waves. Solid rib-chest high south windswell partnered with stiff offshores yielded some fun little nearshore toobs. About 4 other guys out just trading off for about 3 hours.
Same here- jumped in after work, thought it was going to be knee to waist and it was more like waist to chest! Fun peelers - only 3 to 4 guys out all trading waves and hooting each other on! Fun times! Starting to feel a bit warmer too- maybe the air... Hoping the Friday afternoon holds out!! Lovin the spring south swells! My personal fav compared to the rest of the year... Might not have the size and power of hurricane season- BUT it peels forever! Long rides!
nice; hoping for some more size this weekend. hey i'll be surfin somoco this weekend; come surf with me. do you know where the "boss's" o-front squan house is? freekin been firing out front of it (s swell, w wind).....
We didn't have the long lines up here in NoMoCo, but it was fun, punchy barrels for sure. Sets were chest high and popping on the sandbar... wide open to get stuffed. Just me and another local guy with his two little groms, stoked out of their gourds!
It was waist maybe ribs from the far south of SL up to the north of belmar..checked the inlet first and it was barely breaking..where youz catch chest? Baddy I'll be out Friday..where idk..it's far to early to tell..
Hey JawnDudeski! It was a long wait for a chest hi set like every 20min... And only like a one or two wave set... At one of my normal spots.. South end
Jesus those pics are from the pipe to the left hand side..I know what you be sayin about the wait.. But I thought those were between waist and mid rib..pretty wedge esk..I suppose there's some sand build up to the left of the pipe
