Way to go Betty - Life is good! Hoping to bring my wife up to Port Fierce to surf a spring swell soon. GreenMarket Sundays are over in another week. I'll look for the pink board.
You better hurry. As soon as Charles makes my new long board (pale blue), my pink one is history . Look for a fit senior blonde woman who surfs terribly, in that case
We need to have an SI gathering at Betty's secret inlet spot one of these weekends. We can have hindu super models and a bench off on the beach after throwing KFC turns all day in the clean green beans. Glad you got it good on Monday, Betty. You'll still have the pink sunblock, no? I need to get off my butt and talk to him about making a board for me. I'll probably be up your way Saturday morning. Hope to see ya. And who says you surf terribly?
Yeah, I will be there probably. Yeah, will still wear the pink zinc if they still keep selling it it might be chunky tomorrow, and Sunday might be pretty clean.
Got out twice last week. Nothing special, but it was good to get in the water. Water temp 53, air in mid 60s. Dam Neck has sand replenishment project in progress.
My surf buddy and I hit Betty's secret inlet break today. Immediately spotted Betty's pink flag so I knew she was in the house. We chatted on the beach for a while before hitting the water. She is not a terrible surfer despite her claims to the contrary. Very cool lady. The waves were mostly knee to stomach with some bigger sets and clean with pretty stiff offshores. Plenty of folks in the water but the vibe was mellow. Dodging the regular swimmers is good sport kinda like a slalom course. Perhaps not the most epic of days, we still had boatloads, maybe even shiploads, of fun. Seven hours later we called it a day, thoroughly spent yet feeling great. Man, I love surfing. Life is good.
Went island hopping Sunday. Hit dawn patrol at one spot, was small but clean, wind kicked up after the first hour, built the swell up a bit but about an hour later it was getting chopped up. Hit another island that I thought might be working with the wind shift and found this. When I came in a pod of dolphins took over my spot and were feeding and riding the waves. Fun day out. Feeling it today.
Top o' th' marnin, Shelldonne. Yep. Started out as canoeloads. Escalated to boatloads. Ended up being shiploads. No worries about the other thing. It's been decades as it is.
nice little NE swell filled in overnight. DP this morning was goofy foot fun! And...clear green warmer water. Very warm in a 3/2 in MD...felt like mid 50s easy. mid morning shot after 2 hours of fun lefts:
Its not me...but the guy in the photo is riding a 6'4" Christenson Single fin egg....and flying on it.
from this afternoon Delmarva. At least half the surfers were skinning it. If you told me two months ago it would be trunkable before Memorial Day I wouldn't have believed it.
Just spotted this post.Yeah, that was a fun day in the water. Thanks for the compliment Val! It was nice to spot you too.
