Stop whining about your age as related to cold. You are all still in diapers!!! I am in NH, way colder waters and Im not complaining, you weak knobby kneed pussies. Grow a pair and just adjust to what is delivered to you. Either that or quit surfing and take up extreme knitting!! Now get back to work, earn some dollars and pay your taxes to support my Social Security pocket spending money!!
Rob, sounds like a good day! I wanted to surf so bad this weekend, instead spent the weekend in Williamsburg, VA at Great Wolf Lodge. Wasn't the ocean, but I guess you could say I scored some water time. HA HA
And get off my lawn! The way I see it, we all got a piece of charcoal burnin inside of us. As we age, it gradually dims, and we cool off. Mr Barry is just so stoked with the performance of his retirement portfolio that his embers are burnin a little extra hot. Or it could be that Canadian wife.
Another fun morning at the local crowd magnet. Today I rode the LB and was able to get a rhythm catching my fair share. Waves were still waist high and sometimes up to chest high on the set. Felt great, then all of a sudden as I’m drying off about to get in my vehicle a back spasm or something hit me. I nearly got faint from the sharp pain. Then had trouble getting in the car. I finally did and I drove home wincing in pain. By time I got home the worst had passed but it still hurts as I type this.
No opiates for me o Barry. Lots of herb, a solid BJ, some beer, and a good night sleep followed by yoga the next day is in order. I have had some issues with neck and back since my last car accident, which didn’t really show themselves until way after the fact.
Yo, if you drink enough beers those water slides will feel gnarly lol. A water park beats the office brother. Thursday afternoon has potential for surf!
Agreed, the tide dropped out, the sand bars started working and the winds died. Can't beat that, glad you got out.
Got out for a few drainers after work. Not big, but sucking out over the sandbar nicely. Pulled into a bunch, but only made one. Got jacked up a bunch, too... but only minor scrapes and bumps. Sunset was pretty killer.... and lots of bait.
Monday after work. Quite a few of us were out...mostly longboards. Nice sunset - pink and turquoise reflecting off the water - but dark too soon now that we're back to Standard Time. Last sesh for awhile. Heading up to Syracuse NY today. Father in law in hospice and not expected to last much longer. We've been losing one family member a year lately. Not too much longer, I'll be the oldest in the clan.
On a more cheerful note, I did get out yesterday. It was waist to chest, used my 7'8" G&S Magic, and had a great session for about 90 minutes. All by myself, so I had the choice pick of each set coming through. I was then joined by a grebe which swam around me for about 45 minutes diving to get a meal. I wonder what he thought of me....??
Fun couple sessions last few days ranging from waist to shoulder-head. Yesterday was a lot of fun. Surfed down south with some peaky stomach high waves and strong cross/off winds. Got a few where the sections connected and allowed for some turn rippage. My buddy and I saw a seal out in the line up. He was getting hella close, peeping that big ol head at us. It was cool, he or she seemed very intrigued. Next couple of days look fun and I just traded my shortround for a JS black Box II. Stoked to bring it out.
Unexpected rangy head high swell in the water today. Offshore in the am with some nice drops, feel like November with frost covering everything this morning.
Yeah, but the surf was highly over-rated. It was "meh" at best. Had a few good ones, but the rides were un-spectacular; typical Wall NH. You must have been thrilled. The last stormed ****ed up the sand bars once again. Anyway, better than flat, like your high school girlfriend....
