Sounds like it’s been flat as a flaccid you know what back home. I’ve been so busy with work, I think this was the first time I’ve been out in almost two months. I’m in SoCal on business and had the day off, got out and surfed a bit today at a couple places, but the conditions weren’t the greatest. Longbortable, non-favorable winds. Reminded me of one of those typical washing machine days back home in Jersey. There were a few sets to be had, but nothing special by SoCal standards. I felt a little out of shape today, too, since my conditioning isn’t where it should be, due to lack of surfing lately. Can’t remember if I’ve surfed more than once since going to Rincon two months ago. Gonna try and get out a bit tomorrow early evening. Maybe we’ll get something good out here. Headjng to NorCal early next week. I’ll be there a few days on business. Maybe I’ll score something in Santa Cruz.
What part of SoCal? May want to down some pedialyte just to be safe. Lots of sewage was dumped in the TJ river recently. 54mil gallons or something.. Should be fun once the sun comes up, it’s been so crappy here the last few months.
LA County, but cruised down to North Orange County, too. So I’m quite a ways north of the Tijuana. Probably 100 plus miles. It was raining heavy back when I got here the other day. A bunch of locals and my friend who lives here said the rain has been pretty heavy and plentiful the last few days. Have some work to do in the AM, so can’t hit anything in the morning!
u know we had more storms this year than anything I can remember, youd probably have to go back to the Floyd days and I didn't surf back then.luckily we havnt been hit too hard with the snow,i know its a lot worse up north by barry and the cudas. I got so many pics and little video clips on my phone from days I went out that I don't even check after I leave the beach cause a few days later its better, and keeps getting better and betterer.its been a good run so far
Shredded some snow pow on Sunday night. Down for the count right now. Had my nasal surgery on Monday and I’m congested like bloody hell. Literally, the blood clots coming out of my nose are the size of golf balls. No pain no gain. Getting better, but it’s slow. Hope this recovery sets in quick. No water time for at least two weeks. Looks like fun waves later today, tmrw and potentially next week. Blown that I’m not out there. Someone grab a few barrels for me.
I am expecting to go out on Friday; tomorrow is VAS with a nor'easter. That is of course, if I can finally clear this 3 week long battle with bronchitis--almost there, hope to be done by tomorrow. Recovery will be slow--so if I do go Friday, I will limit exposure to less than 1 hour to start.
Just checked buoy, swell came up but it’s at a sh*tty N / NNE angle, need her to straighten out a bit and we’ll have waves.
This Thursday morning we have 17 ft/ 11 sec bouy readings but with howling NE winds. Victory at Sea conditions. How nice.......
I dunno, I pretty much had to write off this winter due to "life happens" events and responsibilities. Wetsuit and gear have been in the back of my car unused for two weeks now. But picking up my repaired longboard from the shop today. Nose had a fair amount of damage from earlier kook trip over the falls at low tide. Here's to a more active Spring. Water temp here in low 40s.
going on our 3rd week i'd say without decent conditions. some ppl tried to make it happen several days ago in real chop conditions, about knee hi from looks of it. i looked up (Wilmington) & down (Jax), not much better. did get a proper showing of the mayport poles by a buddy down in Jax last wknd, looking forward to giving it a try in several weeks when i'm running down to Ormond Beach for a wedding. Would need the water to get above 65 asap tho
Caught some fun surf at my super secret spot in SENC yesterday afternoon. You had to wait a bit, but the sets were worth it. Nothing spectacular but it was offshore and had a little punch. Sun was out keeping us warm. Good day to be a surfer.
Sporadically coming back to life out here in the PNW. Scored some steep chest to shoulder barrels with light offshores yesterday morning, maybe about 5-6 guys spread out over the numerous peaks. A very fun day
