Pumping on the Delmarva this afternoon. 7 feet at 16 seconds with no wind and a low incoming tide. Plenty of size. Like well overhead on sets. I got one right that was just an easy roll-in but was one of the bigger waves i've surfed locallly in a while...probably about the size of the top pic below. Fun, but at this point i'd rather just see it warm up and surf some rippable chest high waves.
Fun waves tonight. First night back on the grind since surgery. Cross-shore, but light and found some good protection. Chest to head high, some crumbling with a line, some dumping. I knew it was gonna be a good sesh when I dialed in my first wave and milked it. Had another, but a left that I got two cutties out of and a sketchy little air boost. Sarfing the next two days and stoked.
Headed out now. Will report back after work tonight. I will scream "free banned SI members!!!" Upon every take-off.
some juice. nice! can I get the exact date, time, gps coordinates and tides for that first shot? asking for a friend, PROMISE not to burn
First time out in a few months.. got wet, got worked, got waves. Some juicy ones way outside. Mission accomplished. Looking forward to more.. Some quick pix I took after I got out.. it cleaned up quite a bit from when I first went out.
Got out this afternoon. First time in too long. Waist high or so, but it's gonna take a bit to get back into the swing of it. The gym and running don't keep one in surf shape.
Got out this afternoon with my lady rolling some film for me. It was supposed to be moderate on shore, but instead pure glass for several hours with fog. Fun little left nuggets on my new simmons. What a day to be alive.
Sure was a fun swell once it cleaned up and the buoys backed off a bit wed late and most of yesterday were good fun. I'm actually pretty tired this morning. So, when is it ever good to get dropped in on? I will tell you...when you come from way back and blow by da guy as he is dropping in and go up in front of him and shwackit and come down essentially cutting him off. Man he was clueless...good times.
Finally had some fun clean lines this morning. Wish I could’ve stayed out longer but I got in just after dawn and had many fun rides. Needed a good session with good wave count and quality to get my head right. Best therapy there is
Got out yesterday at almost dead low tide. My spot had a creepy vibe with the fog and looked a bit closed out so I went out in Sea Isle proper where it's a bit deeper. Waist high with some bigger sets. Could not see the beach or houses due to the thick arse fog. Light winds. Warm. Plucked some nice lefts. Not as walled up as last week but good on the big buoy fish. Got out and realized I had drifted 7 blocks south. Couldn't tell in the fog. I tried to raise awareness for banned SI members but the seagulls just looked at me funny.
Postscript Since it was dead low tide, I was looking at the water from the high tide line and thought to myself: "what would Frost do right now?" So embarked on a quick sand reconnoitering mission. The result? A possible go to spot at high tide. Thanks for inspiring me Frost old boy.
I got wet for my 3rd day in a row. Wow been a long while since I could say that. Surfed with a bud and a bunch of other kewks. I got my fill. It was fun enough. Some lined up rights. Next wed looking like it’s got potential.
Sounds like you all have been scoring a lot of waves lately. Good $hit. I finally got out surfing this evening; went into work at 6am so I could get a few hours of water time before dark. Pulled up to spot #1; the waves looked fun and peeling... glassy little liners. Suited up and in a matter of 5 minutes the wind kicked up and killed it. I've never seen conditions deteriorate so quickly. The tide was filling in and the winds switched. The surf looked completely different than 5 minutes ago. WTF. I headed south to a break that is more high tide friendly and faces a different angle. Found some fun chest high sets with some power to them. Managed to score some fun ones before dark. It was a good Friday.
Friday afternoon OCMD was fun for 7 second windswell....early afternoon low tide was weak, then with the incoming tide built nicely, south windswell, warm afternoon, water noticable warmer than a week ago. Fun sesh, great end to a great month.
Shot. Long week. Got out on Tuesday i think after work. It was gooood. Got out last night after work. It was gooood. But i surfed baaaad. Got woooorked. To tired from a long hard week of work. Got out this morning. It was fun early. Sand has been moved about. One bar was breaking really good even with the full moon high tide and smaller stomach high swell. Other bars are donezo. Got a few new bars that i scoped out though. They are showing potential for the summer. At spots that have been dead for awhile. Hoping they stick around so i can hide from the summer crowds. Hoping winds swing around so i can get a late sesh in tomorrow before dark. Wind forecasts have been getting worse and worse as we get closer but my fingers are crossed.
