Don't eat out, people. It's ok to eat out people, but you could get the throat AIDS like Michael Douglas.
havnt gotten out in at least 2 weeks here in BELMAR Anyone been out lately? Hows the water? still gloves? Thanks your pal Mr Belmar
It's flat again today. Took 2 one-hour walks and worked at gym for 45 minutes. Buffing up for 50th high school reunion next year. lol
Had a pretty good day of probably a combined 6 hours of surfing at 3 different spots. Probably would have surfed another hour or two, but it kind of died out. Was a fun day, but an LB was definitely needed. Pretty small, but fun stuff, occasionally you'd get a waist high set or two. I'd take these days over flat, especially these ugly, rainy, nasty, kind of chilly days, where the sun doesn't come out and I can't do any other outdoor activities like walk or ride my bikes or even use the water bike.
Maybe we're just easy to please from living on the East Coast? That puts my waves from today and for the last couple weeks to shame. Maybe it's just acceptable when you're in Oceanside/So Cal. I honestly don't think I had many waves like that the last time I was there in March! Now if he was still living in Scobeyville, he would have been surfing in Monmouth County today like me, which is fine and I'm not complaining, but it makes what I had look like splashes of water.
Surfed yesterday... fun little swell. I surfed all by myself for 3-4 hours. Then fished for a few more hours. Water is warm. 3/2 weather now. Even with the small swell I was able to find some bowls and to turns, cutbacks and work on airs... few stomach-chest high waves came through but they were extremely limited.
You ain't missed much. No gloves. A bit too warm in the 4/3 but not ready to go 3/2 yet. Water was crystal clear today. 12-15' viz... eazy.
Went without gloves when it was hot the other day, put them back in today. Been in a 3/2 a few times, mostly all of last week, but with the air temps today (probably no higher than 62-63), you probably would have been better off with a 4/3. I had a 3/2 on today, but was cold. Brought the gloves though.
There were definitely a couple good days this week, but you probably needed an LB for them, ideally. Looks like we could get something on Sunday, when I'll be unavailable to surf.
sht was exhausting yesterday. incoming hi tide evening session. short period swell. took out the 6'4 shorty then switched to 6'9 after not much luck. choppy head hi. only had a couple rides out of it which allowed time for a cutback, ready for smoother waters - not flat- just smooth chest or waist hi's. trying tomorrow morning and perhaps Sunday if I find the time n energy. have a good wknd ppl
I surfed the mar yesterday for several hours after work. Went 4/3, gloves and booties but could have definitely slimmed down on the rubber. I checked that spot you recommended and it definitely was doing it’s thing even on the small waves yesterday. I ended up surfing a few blocks up. Some fun thigh to stomach hi lefts and rights, the higher tide actually helped give some good line to it. It was pretty deep, but breaking in between jetties. My mini simmons just eats up those high tide waves. I got a ridiculous number of rides last night, a few turns and cutbacks and one cheater 5. Fun times.
Fun LB waves this morning on low - mid incoming tide, light winds out of the South keeping things mostly clean. Waves were a little softer and more inconsistent than yesterday but I still caught a dozen or so fun ones at the same reef spot I hit yesterday. I got it solo again and nobody joined me at the end of my session this time. Nothing crazy but nice to get wet on this beautiful Friday morning!
