Took a mile swim in the ocean at my local during high tide (lunch) to blow the weed out of my lungs, and lo and behold, the water is moving! Did some sand reconne, and I may take a trip back as the tide goes out (dinner) with the 6'6" pig fish and see what's up.

I got stung on the head of my dick dale by a jelly so I walked half way back. Glad I brought the bendryl extra strength anti itch creme in my beach bag. Life is goode.

 

Yikes! How does that happen? I thought they got you through the hair follicles?

 

Right on the pee hole - it's like a big follicle "Mr. Science Guy", that's how. Any other questions, and NO I do not have hair growing on the end of my penis (yet) LOL

Heading to Gilgo beach this weekend with daughter and it’s looking like it’s gonna be good here when I get back, so there is a chance of multiple sessions! Gonna give The Rawson a shot - supposed to be sizable but choppy... but back up borts are coming too.

 

Bump from last week, courtesy of Ralph's pic. Not me, but I was out there on my 12' foamie. Everyone frothy so wicked crowded, but still fun. Plus water temp of 70, which happens never.

 

Almost didn't go yesterday. But it was a beautiful morning, and my last time out had been Monday. Each day this week had seemed flatter than the last.
Even so, I threw my board on the car and managed to get in a lot of paddling and two rides during those 50 minutes before work.
What was entertaining though were the schools of jumping fish and pods of dolphins - one young one in particular darting about close by me, fin knifing through the water, chasing its breakfast.
So nothing too exciting but nice to be on the water nonetheless.

 

Definitely, man! I’m currently out of the continent (Asia) which is why I had to get back when I did. If I wasn’t, then I would have definitely stayed one more week on Oahu. I’m hoping to surf a bit in Jakarta. Maybe rent a board for a few hours or something. I’ll post more about both when I’m home at the end of next week! It was a trip that I won’t soon forget, that’s for sure.

Yup! I just kind of disappeared from the radar and just did it! I didn’t even spend all that much money. My one best friend (the one who was drinking) pays for us to go on a vacation every year, as long as we pay food and all that when we get there. Now, we usually go to Vegas for a week in late July, because we also invite non-surfing friends who fly out there too meet us. We didn’t do Vegas this year, so we just decided to go to Oahu, which all of us (the surfing ones) were happy with. We didn’t invite the buddies we have that don’t surf. It was me, both of my best friends, their sons (both 20 year olds), my one friend’s brother from California and his girl, and his best friend. It was a blast! Definitely doing that again in January or Rincon. Even if I have to pay. Might have to do Rincon, as I’ll only have 5-6 days and the flight to Honolulu takes up about a day each way. Might have to wait until next Spring/Summer to go back to Oahu.

I’m only kicking myself for not doing this over the last 4.5 years since I was last there.

 

Nice surprise start to September and Labor Day Weekend this morning. Props to Swell Info for nailing the chest high semi-clean forecast. I didn't see it coming yesterday, but SI did and the forecast was spot on for this morning on Delmarva. Some pics from late morning in between two fun sessions in the slop.

 

Small, fun waves on Cape Ann this morning. Still shorts / rash guard weather IMO but mostly people were wearing suites. Cops were writing tickets when I was leaving so I guess there's a few more weekends of parking restrictions.

 

Just got back from surfing the pier. It was crowded but still fun. Knee - waist with a set wave up to chest high every now and then. Onshore wind made it bumpy but it wasn’t terribly bad. Catch the right one and it had a clean face. I rode the LB which was the right call.

 

Finally got some water time in! Last i was out was 2 weeks ago. Been having some back pain plus there wasn't much going on out there anyway.

This weekend Mr. B came down for a mini trip with his daughter. Sat the winds were side shore and blowing pretty good. It was a no go. But today delivered. I was worried since the forecast was all over the place. I just wanted to get those two into some waves. It was thigh to waist high, with the rare chest high set every once in awhile. I was on the mini. The smaller ones were fun, but fast and sometimes sectiony. Mostly just a get up and go sort of wave. Then i got over of the sets, a right, that made the whole session. Took off a bit late, nice wall, got one nice down carve from the top in, then i don't even know what happened. I think i just started laughing. Gotta love when you get the rouge wave like that on a day where it's generally pretty small.

Mr. B and his daughter were having a blast which had me stoked. Great vibes from them and everyone else in the water. Beautiful day. Barley anyone out. Fun waves. Nothing else you could ask for!

 

Fun LB/ mini simmons sesh this morning. Very surprised at the lack of crowd. My girl and I traded a bunch of little gutless wedges. Ripped a few turns on the simmons and then did some soul riding on the Hobie.

Really hoping that next week turns out. Need a sesh with my buoys.

Today - me dropping into a glassy left for my first new break ride. My daughter paddling out into the lineup with all of us and paddling into chest high, head high “green faces”... and riding them on rright handed rails! Watching Bassmon2 get caught WAAAAAAAYYYY deep and late at the base of an overhead wave of the day... and blasting a righty that had him laughing in the bowl making a hard turn and his heart pumping afterwards and grinning like a kid at Christmas...
Him getting caught at the peak of a breaking chest high face and looking around with that ohshit look... gorgeous day and oily surprise swells all morning long. Hips lasted great, caught a bunch of great rides, water was fantastic... what a way to end the summer. Still riding the stoke.
And best part is waist high glass tomorrow at nanny! Like frikken desert!

 

So does this put to bed the thought that Mr. B is Barry? Or is he Barry lmao
