Surf is incredibly nice here today....very glassy, peeling left or right off of a peak, slight offshores...... Of course......it is only 2-3 inches high. But the waves are breaking top-to-bottom!!!!! "Back to the gym again, Back where a bimbo is your friend..." All sing along now!!
Great pics yank, et. al. And Yank good to see the you've recovered swell from the knee issue several weeks ago.
taking a shot in the dark tomorrow with a DP session as our brisk winds blow overnight. 730am hi tide. hopefully score before traveling back to the upstate. safe travels everyone
Buoys and goils, The Biggs is BACK!! Missed all you lunatics and misfits haha. Yank-seriously thank you for sharing all that stoke with us, that is what we strive for and hope to get when we get wet! As far as RI is concerned - DAM fellas, it’s a serious place and has some crazy swell in spots and I got my first taste of legit point break AND overhead plus annihalation. YEEEEEWWWWWWW!!! Three hours in 20-25mph cross wind, tons of paddling and well diggers nuts cold, but what a DAY. Some awesome water time and I learned a lot by watching - and then learned to stay further away from the shoulder on a bomb surfing an LB! And if there’s any doubt about getting together with guys in your locale, who are Swellies? Between guys like BassMon and Manik, I personally have none. Manik is true OG stoke, solid and kind and easily a dude you can hang with and know he’s got your back and wants to see good things happen for others. Took me to a great spot and shared some good personal space for no other reason than he thought I’d respect it and appreciate the hell out of it and I needed some time on a bigger point before I go to PR with no clue. That’s huge to me. Dude can ride the crap out of that battle axe of a log too Hahahaha. I can’t say enough how good it is to meet people like them who are willing to share some of themselves for no other reason than to share stoke. Humbling buoys - thanks to all my fellow Swellies. For real. Now back to our regularly scheduled program - yeah Barry I’m a fag!!! Hahahaha. And your next on my list of swell dudes to get a surf with ...
back to cold Delmarva. Got out after work this afternoon. A few grinders coming through, but challenging conditions
Got mission beach high tide pretty fun this morning. 1st wave was a 5’ roller from the outside. Got into it early, did a few turns on the outside and once it hit the inside sandbar, top to bottom barrel, threaded through it on my back hand for a couple seconds then bailed once I started seeing sand on the floor. Was a memorable one for sure! Watched my neighbor (whose total newb) get some of the best waves of his life. He’s starting to figure out his board (and the waves). Stalling. Staying near shoulder, doing turns to set up his next crack. Gonna take him to the cliffs this afternoon and see if he can huck himself over some ledges at low tide.
Nah, things with the new biz have been pretty busy. Was only able to get over there after the tide filled in too much
Well, got out for 1 hour this after noon. Waves head high, water temp 45F, air temp 45F, and it is the first full day of winter. Wind was strongly offshore, making catching a wave hard as visibility vanished with wind blowing water into eyes. Never the less, had a nice session. Now, it's nap time, and tonite, I take my bride for a nice dinner at the areas best and classiest restaurant, which is her favorite. I will have my annual Southern Comfort Manhattan, straight up, with a marachino!!
Sorry to hear that, but good to hear the new biz is taking off. Sure looks like SD has been getting a pretty good run of surf lately. Nothing to report here, just the typical winter cycle of storms, wind and VAS conditions. Hopefully we'll get a break here in the next few weeks...or months lol
i got on it early this morning....like 7:15 paddle out. Should have gone earlier. Got a couple of real gems around 7:30. Offshore barrel fest, but the swell faded quick. Took a couple shots of friends after i got out. I'll bet north Jersey got it good. Must have been double the size up there and perfect wind.
Cams looked good this morning but the conditions got worse by the time I was able to hit the beach. Too much wind from the wrong direction, cold as a bastard getting changed after- a real biting wind. Rare feeling but this was a session I should have skipped. Flat forecast for the whole upcoming week so it was worth a shot though.
