That be me, 10 years ago. Early SUMMER morning, I am the only one out. Sports photographer came by and ...snap!!
I post this because it is 15F degrees out...sleeting, snowing, and icing. With 40MPH winds.
I would rather be in that picture again.

Really fun sesh on the Delmarva this morning. warm at 9 a.m....58 degrees out, light offshore winds, decent 5' 9 second swell south angle, nice mellow crowd. shoulder high rights, 6'6" quad egg was the perfect board in all this winter rubber. Got a few set waves, was really feeling great about the session, and then black clouds banked up, the wind shifted hard NW, and within 10 minutes the sesh came to a grinding, wind sprayed halt.

I'm living in Bali, Indonesia and we have some pretty amazing surf all year round. Right now it's the rainy season, so you have to watch out for that. But it keeps people out of the water and nice and clear, so that's a plus!

Gusty & relentless offshores w a lot of N in it made for challenging conditions Sunday morn. I received several buckets of water in the face every time I paddled for a wave. The swell was good, too, well overheard but that darn wind flattened & slowed the waves. Eventually the wave energy would overcome the wind energy & then you’d best be moving ASAP down the line cause the wave then jacked up & got very fast.

Dialed my expectations down & had a great time, caught several fun ones, the wind kept a lot of people at home so that was cool.

Mid-afternoon glass, nobody out, incoming high made it mellow but still that Pacific power provided many opps. Caught a bunch - - working on connecting maneuvers or just screaming down the line for 175 yards - - I’m fortunate to be able to surf!

Very high winds today, can hear it whipping through the palm trees already just before first light. Local authorities have issued high wind alert, the small local airport is closed & people have tied down or brought inside anything that could go airborne. Probably no DP today - - brekky, grab some coffee & sit under a palapa to watch Nature’s power. Then a massage & another superb feed.

Wind is expected to slack off by manana.

That stinks about the wind. It’s going pretty strong here too right now. 12-18 knots forecasted all morning/day...

It is 2F degrees. With winds blowing 20-30MPH. That means about -20F right now at 6:30AM here in coastal NH.
And there are waves.....but......who gives a phuck!!! Back under the sheets, dear!!

woke up to a wake up, let's go phone call yesterday morning. thought it would be an evening sess, but apparently it was agreed on to go asap. worth it tho, despite the wind, it was still pretty warm in the upper 50s. went on 13th, only to drift across Washout but caught a handful on each session. took out 6'9 loehr fisch, had some momentum on the waves to get some air. on one right, i had to get to the toes of the nose to get on the 2nd breaking pt - remember that one for whatever reason. got the call to go back out, but football & a mean grill out nulled that evening session. it's all about the one surge of surf nowadays, and empty flat days in between - get it when you can
